If you could only do one PS in Epcot...

Where would it be? I'm thinking that we might do one PS on our brief visit and so far Epcot is the only park we are "for sure" going to. Which restaurant would you recommend for a PS for two grown women (56 & 35) and two 13 year old boys? I would like the PS to get us a good seat for Illuminations - any chance of that?

If you want a good PS that will set you up for a good seat for IllumiNations, pretty much your only choice is Rose & Crown at UK. None of the other restaurants have good views of the lagoon, which is where you need to be to see the show.

You also have to be very careful about what time you request, so that you're not sitting and sitting and sitting at the table, since eventually, you will be gently prodded to leave, since there will be other people with PS after you. Also ... making a PS at Rose & Crown doesn't guarantee that you'll get a seat outside, which is obviously where you need to be to see IllumiNations!

That said, Rose & Crown is a good choice, since the food isn't too exotic or unusual -- sausages, chicken, meat pies, etc. All very recognizable, all quite good.

However, if I had only one PS to make at Epcot, my first choice is always the German Biergarten. It's a buffet, there's great entertainment, and there's plenty of beer. :p And if you time it right, you'll be walking right out of the Biergarten in time to get a great spot in front of Germany to watch the fireworks!

Thanks for the replies! Biergarten sounds like it would come closer to working for all of us. Would we be able to watch Illuminations from there or will we just need to eat there and then go outside to watch the show?

Actually our favorite is the sit down restaurant in Japan. PLENTY of food for growing boys and grown women. ;)

As stated earlier though, the ONLY restaurant with PS that has a direct view of Illuminations is the Rose and Crown Pub in UK.

I second Biergarten. You would have to go outside to see Illuminations. But it is a great restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere. My kids (DS7 and DD4) loved the entertainment. Very lively. It's a definite redo for us next year.

PS...?

Priority Seating.....you call disney and make a ressie and you get the next available table. Its the only way to get seating in some restaurants during busy times.

I have to put in my vote for Rose and Crown...it is my absolute favorite and I think the chance of seeing Illuminations far outweighs the lack of food variety.

R&C for Illuminations, otherwise, 'Fredo's

San Angels in Mexico.

Best Margaritas!

Get PS's early enough to waunder and find a good spot afer you eat.

This one is easy ... Teppanyaki for dinner on our last night or Marrakesh for lunch!:earseek: :earsboy:

You will need to eat there, finish your meal, and go outside to watch IllumiNations.

I wish you could, but Biergarten is in the back of the alley where Germany is and it's inside. The only time you can see the outside is if your sitting when you walk in, on the left hand side. That way when you go up to get more food, you pass the entrance and maybe see some light. But to answer your question, eat early enough and then go stake out your spot for Illuminations.

Gotta be Le Cellier, just make your PS for about 6:30 and you will be done in time to find a spot for Illuminations.
