If you could only choose 1 or 2 plaxes to have a meal in disney, where would it be and why? (Nor counting character dining)

We have 4 kiddos ages 8 to 11. It is their first time.

Quick Service: Hungry Bear because it wasn't busy when I went. I think it's because it's tucked away at the back of the park behind splash mountain. The food was good! They have chicken sandwiches and I think burgers as well.

Table Service: Carnation Cafe because of the menu. Carnation cafe is a good option for kids and tweens. Are your kids picky eaters? Carnation is a good option if they are.

I also vote Carnation Cafe. We eat there every time we go because it has something for everyone. We also really like the Pacific Wharf Cafe at DCA. It has great soups and salads in sourdough breadbowls.

Another vote for Pacific Wharf Cafe at DCA. Yummy bread bowls with soup or salad. They also sell sandwiches on the yummy bread.

At DL we like Rancho Del Zocalo, but part of that is our preference for beans and veggies.

If we still ate meat I would say Corn Dog!

Now this isn't really Disney food....

My grandkids love to have a pizza while at the pool during break time. The Pizza they love is Marris.

Sometimes well do pool and pizza after a long day in the parks. We phone in our order as we're leaving the hub and it arrives shortly after we're back at the hotel.

I like that they deliver and a pizza to feed four hungry kids is less that $20! I usually spend more on their sodas from the gift shop.

It has become a tradition for our Disney trips. :)

Such a hard choice. Depends on how picky your kids are.

Table Service - Cafe Orleans.
Counter service - French Market.

TS: Carnation Cafe in DL
QS: Cozy Cones in DCA [Runner Up: Pacific Wharf Bread Bowls]

One time we were at Cafe Orleans having dinner on a Halloween party night and close by was a table with a grandmother having dinner with her grandson who was about 10 years old. They were both in costumes and he was digging into an order of their special cajun french fries and a monte cristo sandwich with a look of pure joy on his face. Such a special decadent treat! It was so much fun to watch them enjoying their evening.

So I vote Cafe Orleans...and request an outdoor table for atmosphere.

I love the Jolly Holiday bakery! Perfect grilled with tomato soup. So yummy! I wasnt super impressed with Carnation Cafe but location is cool - especially if you have a reservation during Mickey's soundational parade.

I also loved the Carthay Circle but I don't know if I'd take my kids there. It's far too upscale for my offspring! Haha!!

DL - Rancho del Zocolo (but we really like Mexican food)
DCA - Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta (DS9 loves it)
Resorts - breakfast = PCH Grill buffet at Paradise Pier and dinner = Storyteller's buffet or a la carte at Grand Californian

these are nothing super fancy, but with a kid in your range, these were places he liked that we also liked.
good luck! have fun!

Let me put in a plug for disneyfoodblog.com... love that site (I apologize if that is uncool to talk about another site).

For table service at Disneyland - I am torn between Cafe Orleans and Carnation Cafe. I prefer the later, but my wife LOVES CO.
For counter service - Very tough call, but I'ld go with The Golden Horseshoe, and then you can enjoy the silly show as well.

For DCA - Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta. A close second is Flo's Diner.

Disneyland:
Breakfast - Rancho Zocalo
Lunch - Jolly Holiday for the Grilled cheese with Tomato Soup as your dipping sauce
Dinner - Plaza Inn for the chicken plate
Honorable Mentions - Corn Dog, Bengal BBQ, Dole Whip, Churros

Disney California Adventure:
Breakfast - Flo's
Lunch - Smoke Jumpers Grill build your own burgers is cool but the onion rings are awesome
Dinner - Boardwalk Pasta - Sun dried tomato pasta
Honorable Mentions - Corn Dog, Lucky Dragon, Churro Bites

QS: Rancho Del Zocalo. We had breakfast there on our last trip and loved the food and the atmosphere.
TS: Cafe Orleans or Blue Bayou.

Note that the bread is EXTREMELY chewy. It's yummy, yes. But, man - my jaw hurt when I was done with my sandwich!

Plaza Inn for Quick Service because of the fried chicken and the beauty of the restaurant as Walt took part of an old mansion that was being torn down and built the pieces in to the place I think. We enjoy the menu selections at WCT, my kids love pasta, and my husband loves calamari and Caprese salad. I enjoy any type of pasta or salad with shrimp in it and a glass of Chardonnay!

We would have lunch at Carnation Cafe. Everyone in my family likes it too. We usually get an order of french fries and an order of fried pickles to share while we wait for our food.
In the Grand Californian Hotel, we always go to Whitewater Snacks. Again, everyone in my family likes it here. Enough of choices that everyone can get something to eat. Plus, it's a nice place to sit and relax while getting a bite to eat.

Disneyland - Club 33 (followed closely by Blue Bayou)
DCA - Carthay (followed closely by Cove Bar)
DTD/Hotels - Napa Rose (followed closely by Trader Sam's)

Anywhere? Obviously Club 33, only been once but I reminisce about it often.

More realistically, Café Orleans is a big favorite of ours, nice place to have dinner and not too expensive. It's a sit down restaurant though so you'd need to make reservations. For a quick service place, I'd say Rancho Del Zocalo for Mexican food, Pizza Port for pizza/pasta/salads. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say your young ones love pizza so Pizza Port would probably be a big hit.

In California Adventure, we love Flo's V8 Café! Its a quick service place in Cars Land, love of good eats like homemade mac and cheese, turkey French dip, roast beef sandwiches. Also you can't go wrong swinging by the Pier, there's 3 restaurants there: Mexican, Chinese and a bread bowl place. Just in case everyone wants different things.
