If you could live anywhere where would you choose?

Anywhere warm with no cold winters and the ocean would make me happy. Ohhhhhh and an airport so i could go other places easily :rotfl2:

Truthfully, I don't want to live in any one place. I dream of having (small) homes in many different places and spending a few months at each one depending on what I'm wanting. I'd love places in Belize, Ecuador (in the mountains and on the coast), France, etc. I'd also keep a small home base type of place here in Florida.

maybe not the same destinations for me, but the same concept...as long as I was within 1-2 hours of getting to an airport so I can frequent my "homes". If I have to be based in one spot...hmmmm, all I can say is lots of sun, warmth and water...(also running water ;))

Woohoo! Where in NC? I've been here since birth, so I never think of it as a prime destination. lol

Was born there, too. Like you, I never thought of it as a prime destination until I was stuck in FL for several years. Oh, I'll be returning to the Pinehurst area. Have lived in Charlotte and Blowing Rock in years past. I like it every where in the state. :thumbsup2

Vancouver, maybe. I don't know if my fantasy for life in Vancouver matches reality at all though.

Same here!

I moved to Orlando several years ago and still love living here, but when I went to Vancouver one year on vacation, I loved it there, too. I don't know if I could even get a job there as a U.S. citizen. Someone recently told me that some U.S. citizens live in Vancouver and work in Washington. I hadn't even thought about that possibility until she mentioned it. Like you, though, I don't know if my fantasy about living there would be the same as my reality.

Even with so many fantastic places to live in the US (and a couple abroad) I'd stay in the Washington, DC area where I live now. It's the place that best serves my various professional and personal interests.

Since this is a fantasy scenario, I love the area I'm in now but would like a different house, bigger and kind of rustic contemporary. Then I'd like a condo in Boston so I could go out to dinner or the theater and not drive home. I'd love a house on the beach in Sanibel Florida. I'd also like an apartment in Paris, the most gorgeous city!

Right here in Chicagoland, but in a condo instead of a house and in the near West suburbs instead of the far West suburbs. We'll get there one day, but this place fits what we need right now.

I love Chicago. I don't know if I could bear to leave. I love the seasons and the sensibility and the relatively low COL and central location in the US. And Portillo's. Don't know if I could leave Portillo's behind. ;)

DH is getting sick of the snow and thinks he would like Cali or Vegas, so we'll have some negotiating to do when we're free to move. I'm hoping once we move to the condo and he doesn't actually have to deal with the snow he might be OK here. Otherwise maybe we'll snowbird to Vegas. I don't think Cali would work for me. It's a nice place to visit, but too expensive and too crowded for me to live!
