I have pulled up stakes a few times and have lived in California, Mississippi, Minnesota, Massachusetts and Missouri. I will be in California until I retire but my husband and I definitely plan to leave once that happens.

We have talked a great deal about where but we want different things. I would pick Paris; I loved it there and would be happy with a small apartment. My husband thinks it is very important to live on a golf course.

So we just keep talking.

I love the Clearwater/St. Pete area of FL. It has the added bonus of being an easy drive to WDW too!
I'd also enjoy the Florida Keys, too, but I think that might be a little too isolated for DH.
The only negative to living in FL is that I'm petrified of snakes.

Seasons are very important to me. I also do not handle heat well (I lasted one year in Phoenix). So, tropics and dessert climates are out. I loved the Lakes Region in New Hampshire (all the seasons barring mud were lovely) but I did not like having to drive to get everywhere. Of course the culture of the area is really important too.

I actually think Heidelberg, Germany (where I am now) might be about perfect for me.

My parents "retired" (in quotes because they are both working again now ore for fun than anything) in their late 40s and moved to Puerto Vallarta (they do not NEED seasons and handle heat just fine) which was ideal for them.

I love MN seasons. I just wish I could live near the ocean. On a beach.

So maybe a beachfront property in New England (since they get all 4 seasons), and a cabin here in MN.

Or Monterray, CA. Most beautiful place I have ever been.

Stick me somewhere w/o snakes or large spiders and I can live there!

Actually in a few years or so I hope to move to California somewhere around Los Angeles (I've been there twice and I love it). I also want to live in New York City and I really want to live in Paris for at least a year.

I know this probably isn't the type of answer you're looking for, but right here in western NY where I was born and raised! We get a bad rap for our winters, but I love the change of seasons. Our summers are great, falls are spectacular. We love sledding and skiing and I run year-round, so we get a lot of outdoor time. Plus, the rush we get in springtime when the buds come out and the crocus peek up from under the snow cannot be matched.
All I ask for is one warm-weather vacation in April and I am a content woman!

I would not want to live far away from my family. To me, family comes first. So I would not choose to move to another state or country to live permanently.

I would, however, like to move away from this area and live full-time on our property up north. I would like to have a small log cabin there, where it's peaceful and quiet. Our neighborhood here used to be quiet, but not anymore unfortunately.

And, if money were no object, I wouldn't mind living somewhere warm during the winter months. Florida, Texas, Arizona. Maybe try them all. Dreaming...

I've lived lots of places (ex-military) and was fortunate enough to get stationed in Monterey, CA a couple of times, as well as San Francisco. Loved both places.

If I could live anywhere (and I can!), I'd move to Montana (Kalispell area) or Alaska (Ketchikan or Petersburg). I plan on moving when I finish my slp program in a couple years.

Summer - Somewhere not humid and not over 100 degrees
Winter - No snow

No earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, natural disasters.

I still live in the same town I grew up in. My kids even go to the same school I went to, but if I were more adventurous (or at all) - I would live in San Diego!
