If you could have a 5 minute conversation with your pet....

Rwade.....Me too! Well she is 12. Every time I take her to the vet they shake their head b/c they say they have never seen a boxer that old. But she is really stiff and it is getting worse. Then I come home to an accident in the living room. Our lab was 9...who would have thought she would go first. I don't think I could handle another one so soon...but I know it is only a matter of time. She is already on borrowed time!

I have a 13 year old boxer with arthritis and some sort of cancer. I would ask her if she was in pain. She doesn't act like it but I would really like to know the answer to that question. I would also tell her how much she means to all of us. We will be lost without her.

awww.. I'm sorry. I'm sure you would like that info. If I had magic, I'd make it so for you.

Do tell. How did the kitty accomplish this???

For those who have cat know that sometimes they get hyper after they go to the bathroom (atleast I hope mine wasn't the only one)...

He'd just croch down under the light switch and with one mighty jump flip them on ... he never did this in any other room ... just the kitchen and stairway.

Amazing!

What would you say or want to tell them??

I'd like to convince my dog that every thing that moves outside is NOT a threat. No need to bark.

We actually never got "come" across to him, either and I'd like to cover that area.

And then I'd cover the fact that all throwing up should be done in the kitchen on the tile floor.

and then I GUESS I'd tell him that we LIKE him. Maybe.
ditto!!!! to all that except the throwing up part....he doesn't do that

and I have to add that he doesn't need to chew up everything

edited to add: how sorry I am for some of you.....I posted before I read :(

Thanks ... I've been a read for a couple of months ... and then kind of slid into posting a couple of days ago.

I'd tell my hamster Pooh that I would hold him more but I'm afraid he'll try and bite me. I would also tell Pooh that I would really appreciate it if he didn't pee in his wheel because it just makes him stinky.

I'd ask him if he really likes eating seeds, vegetables, etc. or if he'd really much rather have a BigMac.

I'd ask my dear little Koko why she prefers almost any place other than the litter box. And I'd ask her if she's in any pain at all, or if there was anything more I could do for her to make her more comfortable. And I'd tell her that even if she doesn't like the litter pan, I still love her.

And I'd tell Kohl that he has to stop bullying the other cats. And maybe I could get him understand that I don't care if he is the only male cat, he's not the dominant cat in the house - that would be ME and he has to follow my rules. And I'd tell him that even though he is a bully, I'm still glad he found us and came to live with us.

And I'd tell my Sam and Amber cats that I'm really sorry they feel pushed around by Kohl, and they don't spend time in the places that they used to any more. And that just because he's here and a bully doesn't mean I don't love them, or that they're any less a part of this family.

Actually Koko does talk to me. She lets me know when she's not feeling well, or when she's lonely. She has a specific meow that's just for me - it sounds like ma-ma - and when she doesn't know where I am she wanders around the house calling me. When I remind her where I am she comes running, and will climb on my lap, put her nose to mine and say "ma". She's very sweet.

My hamster did that too ...

I bought the hamster litter box and it worked ...

I ended up putting one in every cage because he was too lazy to travel to the cage that had his first one (he had a cage where you could keep adding more sections).

However the cage with the wheel, which I called his kitchen, didn't have and extra hole to connect the potty litter box and I'd clean the wheel at least 2 times a day.

Tinkerbutt.......they're amazing aren't they.........she is on arthritis medication and incontinence meds and she seems to be going well with both....our vet is also amazed with her agility and temperment. She still is happy to see us when we get home...and once in a great while she plays with my son's dog (but not as often as he would like). My son has a 3 year old pit that our old boxer just puts in his place. It's absolutely hysterical. He is afraid of her!!! If one of his toys winds up by her while she's napping he just sits a short distance away and stares at it but won't go get it....too funny. My heart goes out to you and your boxer, I know exactly how you feel.

Pooh has an area where he usually pees but if he's running on his wheel he won't stop, he'll just keep going and pee. Stinky Pooh! HAHA. Ok I just realized what I said! But usually if Pooh has to pee (that sounds so weird), he will stop whatever he's doing and run to his "Pee House." I love my Pooh. Oh there I go again..:p

I'd ask my kitty why she has been limping most of the summer but doesn't seem to be in pain and the Vet has no clue.

Also, I'd ask her where she goes off when she's gone now and then for a couple of days.

I would tell Mac that he is the most perfect and special pup in the world and that I love him with all my heart. I'd ask him how he knows when I'm sick or sad. He is so very in tune with my feelings. And truthfully, I am with his also. I'd also ask him if he is having a happy life with us. And I would ask why that certain spot near the base of his tail and back causes his foot to twitch when I scratch it.

I would tell Tipper that her first Mama did not abandon her and I'd try to explain that she died. I'd tell her that we would never leave her so maybe she would not cry so much. I'd ask her if she was happy in our home. I'd tell her she is my special little princess and the sweetest little girl on earth and that she is loved so very much. I'd also ask her if her legs hurt since she has joint problems.

For Monty's mama: the kicking thing is called a Scottie Shuffle (at least by Scottie folks!) Some dogs do this so they can kick and distribute their scent over a larger area. I believe dogs have some sort of scent glands in the pads of their feet as well.

I would say " So Thomas you do KNOW the carpet is for walking on,sitting on, sleeping on .... The grass is for peeing on ! "

How strange that you came up with this idea...because when I prayed last night I asked God to somehow make my dog understand me when I talk to him when I drop him off at the place he is being boarded at....(it really upsets me when I have to do this)

I will be saying:

Jack, mommy loves you and even though you have to stay here for awhile, it won't be forever, mommy will be back really soon to take you home. But I want you to have fun playing with the other doggies and be a good boy for Auntie Barbara. (The name of the place is "Auntie Barbara's Bed, Bath and Biscuit")

The place is really nice, not at all like a kennel, but I always worry that he is going to think I abandoned him and that he will be sad and lonley and won't eat. He has been boarded once and that was for about a week, but it was in a kennel, in fact a kennel that I never even got to see! I asked them to let me see where he would be staying (we dropped him off on our way to the airport) and they point blank refused, EVEN THOUGH I WAS BAWLING MY EYES OUT! Made me think they had something to hide. So he will never go back there.

Sorry guys, I just get all emotional when we get close to going on trips because of this.

OK, here is Jack.....

I'd tell my girl (a kitty named Sasha) I absolutely love her with all my heart. That I'm so glad I have her.

I'd tell her that we are going to move soon and that its not the worst thing in the world. That I will be there with her so no matter how hard it is on both of us, we won't be alone and to try not to be too scared.

I'd tell her to please pee only in her litter box. That if she really desperately needs to dull her nails, to NOT use the couch or the bed because it cuts them up. I'd ask her to please throw up on the kitchen floor and not on my carpet. And I'd explain that she is NOT to be up on the countertops because food goes up there and that she is not to be on top of the kitchen table, or the entertainment center in case she breaks something.

I'd ask her why she wants to go out until I put the halter on her and then she doesn't anymore.

And then I'd thank her for coming when I call.

I would say three things to my 2 year old ****-zuh.

1. Your a good friend.

2. Please tell me when you have to go out.

3. Does the wooden chair you chew really taste good?

O.K. I'd throw in a fourth.

I love ya little guy.

I would tell Mika, our dog,(Husky/shepherd mix) that we will always come home to her. When we go away she won't eat or drink until we come back. She's the most homesick dog we've ever had. I would also tell her that even though Ashes, the cat, thinks he rules the house doesn't really. It's all Mika's. She my baby with baby blue eyes.
