If you could go to two MNSSHP...

It really depends on what you mean when you say "you don't want to miss out on anything at the party". If you truly want to get pictures/signatures with all the characters, see the parade and fireworks, ride some rides, trick or treat, and hit a dance party then I say YES you need to attend two parties. We went for the first time last year and were there and in a character line before the party started and all we managed to get accomplished was all but two characters (they rotate every half and hour), the parade, fireworks, villians show, and a few trick or treat spots by a character. We are going twice this year since we felt rushed, never rode a single ride despite the practically non-existent lines, and my youngest was bummed about missing the dance party. We are doing what another poster said....hitting the parade, fireworks, dance party, and rides one day not dressed up. Then hitting all the characters and trick or treating the next party dressed up. Just my 2 cents.

Are you FOLLOWING me?!?!?!? :)

I don't think you need two Halloween parties. They're a lot of fun - but the ONLY difference between them and any other night at the Magic Kingdom are the trick or treating, the parade, the fireworks and the theatrical lighting of the park.QUOTE]

Not quite accurate. MNSSHP is the only place you can meet certain characters any time of year, the seven dwarfs, Tarzan, Jane, Abu, Bullseye, Cruella, Maleficent, Frollo and in prior years the Walrus, Goliath and several more. Plus the Pooh gang and Fab five in their Halloween costumes.

So if you are into characters, it is a good idea to plan on two parties since you would be lucky to get through all the lines for the unique characters in 5 hours. If you arent, one should do the trick.

for us, that would depend on how many days at WDW you have. We like to spend 3 days at MK during a 9n to 13n trip. We usually count MNSSHP as one of our days. We have been able to efficiently cover MK during MNSSHP's as the crowds have been so much lower than regular admission days. We have always been able to do all the attractions, as many times as we want during the time frame allotted by MNSSHP. We also love the parade, fireworks and trick or treat.

With that being said, if it were us and it were a shortened trip, say 5-7 nights, then we would go twice so we can get our MK time. I wouldn't do MNSSHP twice in the same trip, purely for the party itself. We love it, but it's a once a year thing to us.

so with that being said, it's really up to you. it's not like you would be dissapointed, even if you happened to not like the party (probable but not likely), you still can benefit from an emptier MK and cover a lot of ground. i like to think of it as a park wide FP for the evening.

I told DH since me and DS are going earlier, I wouldn't fuss (aka deep sigh) at him when he wants to stop and take a ka-zillion pictures!

We do it twice but are character people. Once night we focus on characters and riding/treating then next we do the parade and dance party and anything we missed.

We went to MNSSHP twice during our 2004 trip. I wouldn't go twice again.

The first time we went to MNSSHP was 2003 and we had a blast - I think the fact that it was something new for us really added to the fun of it. When we returned to WDW the next year we planned to go twice since we had so much fun the year before. Well, the first party was fine but we really didn't feel like going to the second party later in the week. We ended up going because I had paid for the tickets and we didn't want to waste the money - we stayed for a couple hours and left.

I would suggest buying tickets for the party date you want in advance and if there is another date you might want to go again wait to buy the tickets (if they are available) the day of the party.

Ive been going to MNSSHP 3 years in a row now and ive always gone twice to the party per trip. call me crazy, but i REALLY enjoy it. the fireworks and parade are spectacular! :wizard: plus, there is just so much to do! theres the trick or treating, the villians mix n mingle, plus all of the normal attractions to ride with such SHORT lines! i really think it is hard to have the whole experience just going to the party once but maybe thats just me!
