for your family, what would you do?

I would have...

1 counter service credit (no dessert)
2 snack credits (one makes up for the no dessert at the CS meal)
1 table service credit (appetizer/salad OR dessert, entree, beverage, tax and tip)

This would work perfect for me because I am not a big breakfast eater, I don't usually eat dessert with lunch, I would like to have two snacks so I can get a snack and a drink, and I would rather have a salad or appetizer before my table service meal than to have dessert.

What would your perfect plan be?

I posted in another thread about this. Here's my 2 cents...

1 CS (does not have to have dessert, just reasonable portion sized food items)
2-3 snacks per day (one morning, afternoon and night)
1 TS

(we are not big breakfast people but using snacks on breakfast should be an option)

I would also revert to how snack credits are used including:

* They can be used on any food item under $5
* They can be used anywhere at Epcot under $5

I would also revert to TS

* All Disney "Signatures" should be considered 1TS
* Pizza delivery? It's only pizza! Considered 1TS
* 2 Counter Service = 1 Table Service (interchangeable)

I would also revert to CS

* 1 Counter Service = 2 Snack credits (interchangeable)
* 2 Counter Service = 1 TS credit (interchangeable)

Thanks,
Tammy

Honestly? I'd like to be able to do:

2 TS
1 CS
1 Snack

Also, since adult/child entitlements are separate anyway, I'd like to be able to purchase a different package for the kids than for the adults.

And, as long as I'm dreaming, I'd like a pony.

Going off more on a tangent, especially as the system becomes more computerized, it might make sense for Disney to offer a "build your own dining plan" package, allowing guests to choose from pre-defined packages (possibly at a discount), or pick and choose what they like; even possibly to the point of deciding whether or not to include appetizers and/or desserts (for corresponding changes in package price, of course).

That's what I was thinking.

Disney could offer an option to customize your own plan, Disney could require that your plan consist of a minimum of 2 meals per night. You could choose how many TS meals, how many signature meals and how many CS you want over the length of your stay so for a 1 week stay you could choose 1 signature, 3 TS, and 10 CS meals. Once you have defined your meals you can add on as many or as few snacks as you want.

Oh and another thing. In my dream plan you choose to whether to buy adult credits for your child or buy credits that can my used for the children's menu only.

I would like to see an a la carte option. :thumbsup2 For instance, for us on a 14 night trip:

21 TS
7 CS
14 Snacks

The snack credits would be fine the way it is. But I would love the option of getting more TS. The Deluxe DDP is too much for us, but would love the option of upgrading some CS credits to TS.

Just a thought.

Oh I like this thread- & My contribution is long... LOL

Since we are all "Wishing" :scratchin

I would like an adult plan to consist of...

1 BCS(Buffet or Counter Service- offers same choices for everyone- no adults only choice w/ kids getting PB&J or what have you- kids can choose anything as adults do)
2 Snack (any snack- i.e. if wanted to use on a TS dessert it should be fine)
1 TS (as stated above an appy OR dessert w/ entree, drink, tax & tip)
1 Character or Sig meal Credit

A JUNIOR or TWEEN category (Can be an option from 4 yrs old up to age 15/16)

Same as adult but slightly smaller portion sizes other than Buffet Counter Service option- would be same- Maybe have it cost in between child and adult-

(My 7 yr old will not be happy w/ chicken nuggets constantly or the like but can't eat a whole steak by hisself- My 9 yr old soon to be 10 will not eat an entire adult portion either but would rather have the food choices MOST of the time) an adult plan is too much for him but the child plan is just terrible for us w/ my youngest...

2 BCS can switch to 1 TS-

1 snack credit can also be used for TS appy or dessert- whichever did not get included w/ TS (If chose appy w/ entree, drink, etc then a snack credit to add the dessert)

1 BCS = 3 snacks (for those who do more snack and go) can also be good when one day you are eaten out and snacks are all you can hold since you are full from day before)

I realize the plan seems much w/ a Character/ Sig Meal being a seperate credit - However, they could make it w/ every 3 day plan ONE Character/Sig Meal credit is added to the plan- That way with purchase of a 6 day plan - you could get 2 upgrades (no additional cost by the way) if you need more THEN 1 TS + 1 BCS = 1 Character/Sig Meal (This is a more appropriate value)

I would also like to see a Refillable mug plan- If not included w/ the Dining Plan- Then maybe... Buy 3 get 1 FREE plan- I would bite for 2 of those! :thumbsup2

That would be very worth it w/o having a $72- a day food budget that you only really use $57- of... (My rough figures based on a light breakfast choice, ($9), lunch ($12), & TS meal ($36) throw in a snack ($3) and it is at $60- still not eating as much as $72 a day! That is a NEW refillable mug a day!!

DxDDP should be allowed to use 1 credit anywhere- regular TS, Character or Sig Meal- Pizza or meal in room- all same credit!
1 TS Credit can be broken down to 2 CS or 3 "snacks" of any choice if wanted also!

Okay, mine is long and we are still yet to take first vacation- LOL
But I labored over what we would choose based on our kids and our eating habits and dollar amount... I am still not completely satisfied since we will also be eating OOP for certain things...
*sigh* But, since we are WISHING- pixiedust:

Wow I really like that idea. It would work perfect for us since we are only interested in two or three TS and the rest CS. Plus two snacks a day would be great.

You hit the nail on the head. I think the snack at counter service is a waste and would much prefer a cup of coffee or a bottled water later in the day with a yummy snack.

My perfect plan would be YOUR plan, lol. :thumbsup2 Not a big fan of most of the dessert choices at theme park CS restaurants, and would much rather get a snack of my choosing at another time. In fact, that's probably the main reason we choose to share CS meals most of the time--because 4 desserts are just too much all at once. Would also prefer the choice between appetizers and desserts at TS--dh and I would probably always choose appetizers, while the kids would always choose desserts.

I'd prefer it ala carte too with each element "costing" a certain amount upfront. Then you can pick it any old way you want but it's all prepaid.

My perfect plan would be 2 table service meals a day - no counter service, no snacks.

Appetizer, entree, & dessert (and non alcoholic beverage) and costing $50 a day - tax and tip included.

I like the reg. dining plan, and enjoy that one TS a day for us.
But...
I would really like to see them add the tip back in, that made it feel like there was nothing to think about, but enjoying your meal, and not even looking at the bill if you didn't want to! I think I would rather have had them charge a bit more to do this.

Just the original plan with appetizer and dessert and tip included. I don't mind paying a bit more for it.

All QS usually won't work for me, the DXDDP is way too much for us, and paying as I go is less expensive than the current regular DDP since we are not dessert eaters, but prefer appys.

Much as we enjoy TS meals, they can be so time-consuming.

I think it would be cool if you could alternate your days between the QS and regular DDP, so that you'd get a TS only every other day.

Haven't actually tried the DDP yet, lol, but I think I'd like to leave it with the same 1CS, 1TS, and 1S but include a mug and all gratuities. Additionally, I'd like the option of choosing either appetizer or dessert.

This is mine too. I also think they need a better way to incorporate Signature meals. Something like "purchase 4 days get 1 extra TS (to use towards 2TS), purchase 7 days get 2". I hate trying to figure out what days we have to skip a meal (or pay OOP, or use snack credits, or share, etc) in order to have a nicer dinner.

I'd love to be able to buy fewer days for ds. Not so that we could share, but b/c he'll be in a kids club one night (while we dine at a Signature) and now we're stuck trying to figure out what to do w/ 2 extra kid credits.

Love this thread! I'm going to steal some of your ideas to build MY perfect dining plan:

2 CS - no dessert, no beverage (don't need this with a refillable mug, and sometimes I would prefer an alcoholic beverage)
3 snack - could also be used for dessert

2 CS can be exchanged for 1 TS or 1 pizza

I can buy my own refillable mug.

I need to be able to choose the size of my daughter's meals or I won't be doing any dining plan. She is 9 now and weighs only about 45 pounds - she can't even finish a kid's meal yet!!! But I know people with 9 year old sons that can eat more than the rest of the family put together.

I think you're right -- we should be able to build our own dining plan. If WDW did this, I would buy the dining plan on every visit.
