OMG I remember when I first saw that scraproom on 2peas - it's gorgeous! Are you repainting it (which is crazy!) or did you buy a new house?
Thanks!

My husband and I built our house 6 years ago this month. Three years later we finished the basement so my daughter could be in the larger "princess room" (it has a turret), we could have a guest bedroom with a bathroom attached (for both of our moms to visit) and my 2 step daughters could have seperate rooms. They also were finally old enough to need their oun space to get away from us. Well, now three years the oldest is off the college and the other daughter is too busy to ever come to our house. (They have both spent Christmas only with us in the past 2 years). I planned my scraproom when we finished the basement for the room with the most windows but to still be out of the way. I had drawn plans for two huge closets to be built on one wall with only 3 inches inbetween them. Unfortunately the day they framed my scraproom, I was at work and when the builder questioned my husband about the specs, he told them to center the 2 closets on the wall. (I am normally a very (anal) perfectly lined up person) But I had planned for my table to go just to the side of one of the closets and then I could have 2 tables in an L shape. I was not very happy when I got home

and saw how the room had been framed and I could have changed it, but I felt bad and didn't want to make the guys build it again. So, now that I have started a novel

I was never truly happy with the room in the first place.

I have tried several ways to change it, but it has never worked. Well, I share a room with my DD and she is really starting to invade

my space with her toys and we are always stepping all over each other in there. I was going to make her playroom in the back bedroom but she refuses to go in there. (It is in the very back corner with no windows) So I could understand her concern. Well since this room has more wall space and built in bookshelves that run floor to ceiling, I have decided to make everyone happy

and make a new scraproom. Now, that is why I am looking for ideas. And if you are still reading this, bless your soul!
Oh, I guess I should have mentioned that I am a dental hygientist by trade but an interior designer at heart. I have already redone all of the rooms in my house (in the 6 years that we have been here) except for one bath and the study. So, I guess I just really wanted to have something new to decorate!

Wow! You have really been planning this out! Thanks for the ideas! I really like the paper storage in the room you admire. I wish my DH could make me one!
