If you check-in the last day of the 40% room only rate should the price not change?

Just for fun I was looking up rates for the 40% room only promotion for checking in on October 2nd, which is the last day it's available. Now I realize these are two different promotions but I know if you checked-in the last day of Free Dining you get it for your whole stay. However with the 40% room only promotion I saw that the rates change on October 3rd. So shouldn't you get the 40% off rate the whole time you are there or does WDW think some guests might try to check-in on the last day hopping to get the good rate, so they have no choice to change the rates back to what they are?

The percentage off room discounts are different than FD. You will only get the discount for the dates that the discount is available for.

This is correct. Last Dec we had a room-only discount for the first 4 days of the trip but paid rack rates for the rest. Considering it was Christmas week, I appreciated any discount we could get.

Yeah it is too bad. I called about the same thing last week. I would have rather had 40% of my vacation than the FD. 12-16 to 12-22 is pricey but I hope it will be fun.
