I guess it is offensive, but it is something that should be common sense. Will probably get flamed for saying that, but it is. I think it is a rude and stupid thing to say (and the rhyme is lame), but I wouldn't adopt a pet I couldn't feed and keep healthy, so I sure wouldn't have a baby I couldn't care for.

The problem is that most people would give adopting a pet lots of thought. Really making sure they could care for it, keep it healthy and feed it. And those same people will have a baby without giving it a second thought on if they would be able to raise it or not.
I do agree with the bumper sticker though. Even it is is kinda tacky.
Well, if you are purposely having a child you can't afford, I'd agree.
But sometimes it is unplanned, and I honestly must say in that case, I agree with having the child regardless of your lot in life. If you really cannot afford to take care of the child, there is also always the choice of putting it up for adoption.
I see people all the time who don't think about whether they can afford a pet (esp. if it gets ill), they just get one on a whim. And you know that happens all the time with babies, too. It just blows my mind.
