We took the 4-night Disney Wonder last week. It was unbelievable ..the ship is like a floating deluxe hotel. We had more fun on the cruise then we did in WDW. We booked the 4-night cruise separately from our WDW hotel booking.

My wife who got sick as a dog on our honeymoon cruise many moons ago..faired much better on this cruise. (err..no puking) You could not feel the boat moving at all. (remind me someday to tell you about how on our honeymoon cruise the ship lost all power for hours and was drifting aimlessly in the Atlantic Ocean)

The nightly Disney shows were of Broadway caliper as well as the theater.(ok one night they had a juggler he was so so) The movie theater was great too..(but “The Village” stunk) The food was out of this world. I spent most of my free time on deck 9 stuffing my face with free food and drink. (I never met a hamburger I didn’t like..didn’t Wimpy say that) All of the CM’s were excellent!

If you have kids you can deposit them at the different kids clubs for hours on end. (we didn’t…we kept them with us) If you don’t have kids there are plenty of places to go on ship and shore that are adults only. There are activities going on all of the time..deck parties, club parties, bingo, classes, tours, etc. And the character greetings are done in a calm orderly way. (no line cutting or getting knocked over by those tour groups)

This is where were went:

Sunday – leave Florida
Monday – arrive Nassau, Bahamas
Tuesday – arrive Castaway Cay (Disney’s Island)
Wednesday – day at sea
Thursday – arrive Florida

The price includes everything except the ship photos, tips, booze, and the shore excursions. We did a Nassau excursion to the Atlantis Hotel..it has the world’s biggest seawater aquarium.. it was 33 bucks for adults and 23 bucks for kids.

We spent $135 on photos..they were ready nice. (well except for the one of me in my Speedo…dam that free food)

This is the suggested tipping: (per cruise)

Dining Room Server: $14.75 per person (including kids)
Asst. Dining Room Server: $10.75 per person
Head Dining Room Server: $3.75 per person
Stateroom Host/Hostess: $14.50 per person

I am too embarrassed to tell you how much my booze bill was…but if you read my hurricane Charley thread I’m sure you can figure it out. (glad I brought along a few pennies)

We drove to the port … parking was 10 bucks a day.

The location of the room doesn’t much matter … you are never really in it that much. Because I booked at the last minute we were split up into two rooms (didn’t I get crap from my wife for that move) one nice room with a verandah and one room in the belly of the ship with no windows. (guess which one I slept in..but like I said it didn’t matter)

Again if you can swing it..please go. We are lucky enough (knock on wood) to be able to go to WDW every year the cruise was a nice diversion from the parks.

I will post a cruise trip report on the appropriate board later. I thought I would do this little post on the CB first. (maybe get a few people hooked...I know I am)

Happy Cruising!

I agree totally, Everybody should go on at least one, then the "magic" and "wonder" will set in and you will want to go again!

Welcome back Charlie! Glad you had a great time... We did the 7 night Eastern Magic in March and it was the best vacation I've ever had. We'll be saving all we can to do another one!

We went on the 3 day Wonder last fall and it was fantastic!!

I know it will be a long time (if ever) before we can go again. I never thought we would be able to go the first time, so who knows. I'll keep my fingers crossed!!

Super vacation!!:sunny:

Totally agree, charlie. We love Disney Cruising too. We've done the 3 day Bahamas and the 7 day Eastern Caribbean.

You must share the story of the honeymoon cruise someday. It sounds really interesting.

And we want to see those pics of you in the Speedos!!!!

We hope to do a cruise next year...depending on the cost...:D

YES! If at all possible, it will be the best vacation you will ever take. We went in 2003, and we're going again in 2005 or 2006. Absolutely worth every penny!
