I have seen many great reviews about Le Cellier (and a few that are not so grand) Given our tour schedule the only time I can fit it in is for lunch and the much celebrated mushroom fillet is not on the lunch menu.

Is it worth the effort for the lunch menu or is really best only at dinner?

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Unless it's been removed recently, the mushroom filet IS on the lunch menu.

Oh yes it is. I should have scrolled further down. I saw "Chef's Favorites" and "Sandwiches" and missed the lunch entrees.

Thanks Nala

I wouldn't be disapointed. We went for lunch on our last trip and it was so good, not as packed and it was kind of nice to walk off the big meal of the day. I ate so much (the mushroom fillet, the soup, the pretzel bread...MMMMMMMMM!!!) but within a short time had walked enough to not feel it.

We went for lunch twice last year, it is the same as dinner. The filet is the same size as well. This is our favorite restaurant enjoy! Also last year we made a ressie once for 11:30 and they opened at 11 so they sat us right away as we were on the first seating. Second ressie was around 2:30 and it was the last lunch seating so we got to see the restaurant clear out as we finished our meal and it was nice and quiet before dinner started at 4 pm

We went at lunch and it was wonderful. We had the highly recommended cheddar cheese soup, they had the pretzel bread at the table and I had the New York Strip steak. It was heavenly.

We did lunch the past trip for the first time and it was the BEST experience we had ever had!! We had a 2:00 ressie and so the crowds were light, the wait staff was more attentive instead of rushing you out for the next guests. We still got the mushroom filet, pretzel bread and the wonderful desserts there and had the rest of the day to walk them off. I think we will be doing lunches from here on out!!

I was wondering the same thing. We can only get a ressie for lunch and I wasn't sure what the menu was like.

Dinner now starts at 3:15. DBF and I have a ressie for 3:25p during our upcoming trip in October.

We've gone twice for lunch and it was very good. I don't think the wait staff gives you any less attention say at 12pm then 2pm like a pp stated. We've gone both times between 11:45-12:30 and both waiter/waitress were great & attentive. The soup and mussel apps are VERY good, the mussel app is one of the best on property compared to a lot of the signatures (narcoosees, artist point and some other places that I had them).

great to know. I could only get lunch ressies for our Oct trip

 I'm excited I'm doing the happy dance. I like many was fooled into thinking lunch wasn't as good. We've a ressie for 145 Nov 2 and I've been trying daily to change it for a dinner Res to no avail. After seeing all these posts n stories I'm extremely excited to do it this way. The only problem I have now is telling my stomach it has to wait 5 more months for this mushroom filet everyone's talking about. I can't wait. Thnx again Dis'ers.

Went to Le Cellier a couple of weeks ago and was paying OOP so decided on lunch. Filet was great and so was the bread. For me the cheddar soup was waaay to salty. All in all I felt great as it was the first time I was able to get the coveted ressie. Will go again.:thumbsup2

Can't wait for our lunch reservation at Le Cellier in August. I didn't try for dinner - specifically wanted lunch. I don't like to eat very heavy meals in the evening and the menus I found at allears and here on DSI looked pretty similiar to the dinner menus.

part of me wants to live by the: if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all rule.... but i can't resist.

i would not waste my park time for this place. our service was awful, food was prepared wrong, twice, and it wasn't good. okay, i've vented and it's out there.

i just vote not to waste your time. i had a really good lunch steak and shrimp at big river grille if you're looking for a steak. just my opinion.

Personally I think that Le'Cellier is the most overhyped, oversensationalized, and overrated attraction in all of WDW. Is it bad? no. Is it great? absolutely not. It is an average, perhaps slightly above average steakhouse that is extremly popular because it is a 1ts restaurant on the ddp. In my opinion this place is not even in the top 5 for steak at WDW nor would I rate it in the top 3 for 1ts restaurants either. This place is dark, cramped, often long waits past adr's, and what I found to be an arrogant staff perhaps due to their popularity.

I guess you can tell I'm not overwelmed with Le'Cellier. This is only my personal opinion based on my own personal experience. With that said, go there and try it out for yourself. Go there expecting a decent but not great meal; if it turns out great you will be thrilled. If you go there with tempered expectations and the place fails to give you an almost orgasmic dining experience and fails to change your life as some seem to say, then you won't be disapointed either. Again this is OMHO.

This is when we eat there (have all 10 times.) If you cant get adr's try going when they open up at 11:30, We have seen them get people in then.

Anyone know if you can get the cream cheese mashed potatoes for lunch? We have a lunch ressie but I don't see them on the lunch menu. I really want to try these.:goodvibes
