I'm torn. I have an eligible Dell laptop, with 8600M chip, but haven't had any problems, after 2 1/2 years. The risk involved in sending the computer back-and-forth for repair, and the inconvenience of being without my laptop for an indefinite period of time, makes me wonder if it is worth going forward with the replacement.
Does anyone have more detailed information on what percentage of chips will eventually exhibit these problems, and in what time-frame?
Never mind... I went through the process of filing a claim, and this was the reply:I take that as good news.![]()
At what point did you get that notification? I've had problems with my laptop recognizing the wireless and with the screen going black, both being repaired under my warranty. I'm not sure if my laptop qualifies, it almost looks like it doesn't based on model number. I went through the claim process anyway. I submitted and it let me submit. I'm just wondering when it would say if it didn't qualify.
Thanks!
