can you just borrow pts every year that way? I was just thinking about this the other day because we have 200 pts and will have to borrow 60 from our 2008 use year to complete the reservations we want so...if in 2008 we want to book something that requires more than 140 pts could we just borrow from 2009 year and so on and so on for each year of vacation? does that question make sense? :coffee: -does it ever get to the pt where it matters if you continue to do that? (aside from the last year of the contract of course :) )

That is perfectly fine. Many members live in a permanent state of borrowing, and feel it is a good way to go. For one thing, you don't have to worry about banking deadlines. ;)

The only problem is it limits flexibility if you ever want to take a longer trip or more than one in a year. But if your vacation plans don't change much, it is a workable plan.

thanks for the quick reply. Right now it's just a hypothetical question....I'm not sure if we would need to borrow every year but I just wanted to know if it's do-able! For a while we will probably only be able to go once a year since we live in Maine and drive to WDW, it's quite a hike to do more than that w/ 3 young kids.

Just a warning, this is were add-on-itis begins. :)

I see what you're saying, but I don't necessarily agree because if you can get away w/ borrowing every year into the following year, in a sense you wouldn't have to add on, right? I think that's what Granny is saying too. But then again, once you start the process of borrowing I guess you don't have as many pts as you started with so essentially maybe it doesn't really work in the long run....

No this is completely how it starts.. oh I"ll just borrow points from next year.. and next year.. and next year.. then you start to think about it.. well if I just had this many more points I could go for this much longer.. hmm a flyer in the mail.. $15/point discount? hmmm..... AKV? I've always wanted to stay there... if I only had a few more points... :lmao: But really not problem with borrowing every year as long as your vacation plans stay steady year to year. Just remember borrowed points can't go back to the year you borrowed from :thumbsup2

:rotfl: I'm already thinking about whether we should purchase at AKV when it's offered to members! Of course DH doesn't know that yet-shhhh.

I rationalize that with a DEC U/Y in , what , 2042 I'll have 62 days to use them so I started borrowing now. I figure DVC will be pretty booked those 62 days anyways <G>

But yeah The first year I owned them I owned them for 7 months and got to bank some but now this year I borrowed from next year already and will need to borrow from year after , next month to make a new ressie. I also did *** on too , gosh I need another job to buy more points !!!!
