...check your rates. Prices went down for my flights PHL/MCO and I got about 10K points back in my RR account simply by re-booking 3 RT flights that for which I had reservations for the exact same dates and times. :cool1:

I'll check when I get home! I've been checking fairly regularly since I booked (once or twice a week), but so far the price hadn't changed one penny.............P

I wish the dates were released for the rest of the year. I can get our departing flight, but not our return flight. I want to wait and book it all together, but they have such a perfect departing flight time, I hope it's still there in a couple months.

Honestly, if you are very time specific, I don't think I'd wait. You are risking the flight itself selling out or the price going up. And it is so easy to book two one-way tickets, why not (unless you have concerns that your dates with change)? ..........P

Once they make the schedule, the flight times don't change. However, I would not wait to book the departing flight. That perfect flight time for you is probably a perfect flight time for a lot of families. Wanna Get Away fares do sell out.

I'm ridiculous about this kind of stuff because I HATE booking not knowing when my return flight is, but.. if you know you'll book with Southwest it may be worth booking now. Southwest allows you to cancel and rebook as many times as you need to. They will give you your money back as a credit if you find something at a lower price later. I just panic about that stuff because I've seen flights that I need go from $99 to over $250!

I finally got a one way flight for $74, but it is for our Disney Cruise that leaves from NYC. Just have to book a flight home. The cruise returns Friday and I want to spend the weekend in NYC but my dh doesn't.

I'm trying to remember how this works (as I've done it before) but is this correct:
if you cancel/rebook there is no fee for doing so? Full refund?
But if you move a reservation there is a fee?
And if you find a lower fee for your flight it's refunded as a credit that must be used within 1 year?

I noticed this last Friday for our flights that I had just booked the week prior when the schedule opened up. I knew they would drop at some point but didn’t think it would be almost right away! Recaptured 8,400 miles total. Thanks SW!

Checked on my September flight and no change.... but thanks anyhow for the heads up! I'll keep checking........P

I checked my October flights and no dice...my first flight is still the same and my return flight was $122 when I booked, went to $140 later that day, and is now at $207!!

How did you get the 10,000 RR points in a re-booking?

How did you get the 10,000 RR points in a re-booking?
I was not awarded 10K pts. for re-booking. I booked with RR points to begin with. The difference in points were put back in my RR account immediately.

Checked my Sept flight also from PHL/MCO and the prices stayed the same, but thanks for the heads up. I'll continue to check.

No change fees. I check at least once or twice per week each time we're taking a trip. The trip we are taking in April - I've rebooked it 3 times. Saved $65 I think. We even changed our trip dates since the flights were cheaper - no fee to rebook to a different day.

If you booked with points, they're credited to your account.

If you find a lower rate, you can click change flight and rebook that flight at the lower rate. You'd have to check but I think the funds are credited to that specific person. So for example my fiance and I are traveling together in April. I am traveling with friends in August. When I rebooked our April trip, we were each credited the difference in our flights. For my August trip, I was able to use the funds in my name towards my ticket. So now my fiance has "travel funds" (Southwest's name for the credit) in his account - I don't since I used mine. I do think it has to be used within a year.

Yes, the funds have to be used by the person for whom the flight was originally booked AND it is one year from the date that it was originally booked, not one year from the date of travel.
