I think this question came upon an earlier thread A guy booked with the american site last year and was able to do this but he booked with the uk site and couldn't for some reason. .
Its best to probably call them.
Im sure someone else will answer this as im not 100% sure.

I just logged into to our account to check for you. There is no facility for paying instalments. You can only pay off the balance.

We booked our last trip through Virgin Holidays and they offered a Direct Debit system where you could make payments whenever you liked - monthly, bi-monthly or just one off at anytime up to the date the final balance was due.
