If you are flying Delta to DL this summer

I've already had 2 itinerary changes for my October trip on Delta. I'm holding my hotel reservation 2 days longer than I'm actually staying, just so I have some flexibility with my flight, but once I reserve park days, flexibility will fly out the window. If all else fails, we'll drive.

I've already had schedule changes for one of our party on Delta for my Aug trip to DL and a June trip to NYC. SW changed my flights for Aug also I was hoping that was the end of it. You would think that they would hire appropriate staffing before scheduling the flight. Unfortunately I'm coming from Texas with 3 young kids, so driving is pretty much out (at least for my sanity!)

My august direct flight from dtw to SNA got changed to a stopover (with plane change in Minnesota). For the flight home, I had 35 minutes to change planes with 2 kids. I messaged with delta and have switched to a non stop into lax. Hopefully that flight stays as is.

My DGD has had Alaska change the reservation she booked in Feb for her Oct trip. Alaska canceled two of the four flight on the Sunday she plans to head to DLR.

It is something many people are having to deal with.

In the last round of massive cancellations, I had good luck getting compensated with $100 vouchers from Southwest. United and Delta have been stingy and not giving anything.

Think ahead of profit? Put the customer ahead of the shareholders? What country do you think Delta calls home???

They could care less about guest satisfaction…regardless of what their constant advertisements say.

We had great luck with Delta compensating us coming home from WDW. Our flight was delayed significantly and we were going to miss our connection. They put us up in a hotel, gave us vouchers for future flight, and refunded (a very small) part of our original ticket cost.

Alaska has already changed our itinerary for our July DL trip once, and I'm nervous they'll change it again. I was also looking at flying into Chicago in July to see my family and WOW, prices have skyrocketed. Tickets are 3-4 times what they were when I flew into Chicago at the same time last year.

our ticket price went from a low of 1700 for 4 people traveling to LA from the east coast, to a whopping 4000.00 as of today.

Thankfully , we bought when it was only 2100….

Same. Our DTW to SNA flights have changed twice. Hoping our 35 minute layover is the same plane else I don’t know how that will work unless they hold the plane. I’m tired of changing my car rental times too every time the flights change.

Our stl to sna flight via SW in july has been changed 3 times. I'm sure it'll be changed again before our travel date. It's a 3 day drive each way so we're just being flexible and rolling with it.

Each flight itinerary change has a ripple effect that creates a ton of work! Our Alaska flights for August (PDX-SNA) changed to much earlier in the day, so we had to: 1) change dog sitter dates, 2) edit transportation/car service timeframes, 3) change stroller delivery, and 4) add a park ticket for arrival day (okay, that part was fun). Fingers crossed that there are no additional changes! I feel for you all!

Our Alaska flights in July (also PDX-SNA) changed as well. Thankfully it wasn't too awful, so the "only" inconvenience is H will have to go in to work earlier the day we leave so he can be done in time to get to the airport.

You should be able to tell. Do your two flights/legs have different flight numbers? If you post a screen shot, someone should be able to help. If you need to switch planes, I would be on the phone with delta and would not accept that flight.

Yes, this. Is it two different flight numbers? Then you are changing planes. 35 minutes is short BUT if the airline has set up the connection that this would be considered a 'legal' connection, meaning they are providing the minimum connecting time. TBH, 35 minutes is probably the bare minimum. It might not be a bad idea to reach out to the airline and see if there is an alternative. If your first flight is delayed they have to book you on the next available flight but if that isn't until the next day ( and they may compensate you ) it might not be worth it if you are traveling with luggage, strollers, and littles.

I just checked and they are different flight numbers. I’m going to contact Delta to see what alternatives they have. I’ll be traveling with DH and our 2 teenagers so if there are no alternatives, hopefully we’ll be ok. I’m going to check regardless though because that short amount of time does make me nervous.
