I read Dan's post right after he made it. I didn't think anything of it since the DIS meets have their own board, I rarely visit that board, and had completely forgotten about PatrickCon.
If some of the others hadn't chimed in, I would never had known that this was, what seems like, a very personal and touchy subject.
I feel badly that Patrick is hurt, and I feel badly that Dan is being singled out and accused of something that may not be true.
Either way.....if Patrick couldn't be the host to all that intended to visit, why can't everyone grab some great take-out and go to a park. Spread out a blanket, rustle up some picnic tables, and voila! There you have it! A DIS meet doesn't necessarily have to be at someone's house.
In regards to someone else stepping up to the plate and offering their house as a place for a DIS meet, I can certainly understand NOT wanting to do that, for various reasons.
