If we cancel our Disney hotel will we have to pay any thing I realise I wont get my deposit back I'm just worried they will take a payment from the card used to pay the deposit. Found a deal for a hotel we stayed in on our first visit together so we know we like it and the location is good

A few questions first:

Who did you book with
I haven't worked out the exact days as per your ticker, but are you still outside of 56 days away from your departure date? If so (the exact number of days may vary from one place to the next) you will forfeit your deposit.

If you are already within the 56 days (you need to check your cancellation terms and conditions) then the penalties are as per the T&Cs under the cancellation clause.

What did you find?

As it's more than 56 days until you go, you'll just lose the deposit. Don't worry about any additional money being taken- once it's cancelled, it's cancelled. You'll get written confirmation.

Just wondering, have you decided to cancel because of the whole upgrade debacle? If so, I understand. :goodvibes

Tinks, are you wanting to change because you prefer the other hotel or because you found a better deal on the price? Only reason I ask is because if it is just price related, don't forget to take the cost of the Dining Plan into consideration. :goodvibes I know you saved really hard for this and wouldn't like to see you get less value for your money.

Hello,

Thanks, After speaking to Dave last night he feels a bit cheated by this offer and we are really quiet tight for cash right now and we found the hotel we originally stayed in together (obv no where near as posh as SSR) a car for 2 weeks inc platinum insurance was £1000 cheaper alot of spending money for us even if we bought Disney tickets with that money we would still have lots more spends we wouldnt bother with the dining would probably just go to le cellier and teppan edo

I dont want to cancel we really want to stay in SSR we love it there its just we really are quiet low on the cash flow ATM

we have had a bit of good news today so hopefully things will start to look up now :thumbsup2

We dont want to down grade esp since it is our honeymoon and our last trip for a few years hopefully things will start getting bit easier this week

I hope all turns out AOK for you  and you end up staying at SSR  keep us updated

Well I hope your good news is BIG! :) Honeymoon is very special so as long as you have a holiday that gives you the things that are really important to you, that is what counts the most. Let us know how you get on. :goodvibes

I'm glad you've had a bit of good news. :) Whatever you choose to do, you'll have an amazing time (as I'm sure you know!). Keep us posted. :thumbsup2

Thanks guys my news should hopefully be for definite on Tuesday so fingers crossed will make every thing alot easier

Good luck, I hope you don't have to cancel. :thumbsup2

I'm still hopefully of an upgrade to a 1 bedroom when we check in on the 14th Sep.

Awww, Leanne, I know how much money can be a stress with a wedding coming up!

Just to be a voice of reason, say you did downgrade dissappointment aside of not being onsite, you would have your extra £1000 and the car:

Take off Disney tickets:

£650 left

2 weeks of just CS dining even and then Le Cellier and Teppan Edo

£300 left (and I think that's being generous)

Petrol for the car for 2 weeks

£200 left

Is it worth the downgrade for £200 and losing the onsite benefits? And having that feeling that you compromised on Honeymoon?

If the £1000 didn't include the park tickets than I'd be inclined to think it's a better deal, but seeing as they dont, and you are losing free DDP too, I think you are worth really crunching some numbers.
