If we can DREAM it, we can do it! ..... another 30 day vacation Update 02/07

So sorry to hear about Tom's back :(

Yay for BCV!! I have never stayed at any of the Epcot resorts but they are all on my list and Stormalong Bay looks absolutely amazing!!

We are hoping he gets much better with the treatment next week. :thumbsup2 Staying home does him good. :goodvibes

I am so excited about BCVs. :woohoo: You need to stay at one of the Epcot resorts one day - we stayed at YC once and I knew NOTHING about the resort, but fell in love the moment I set foot in it. So beautiful, and now we are going to stay at BCV. :dance3:

Lovely photos from the yacht and beach club Karin

We love to just spend time walking around the resorts :)

Have you got a PTR for your Feb trip? I keep checking in from the iPad app so can't see it in your signature and I would love to see your plans :)

We are going to stay at BCV in August, Linda! We are so excited about it - but it is all in my PTR - here's the link for you! It's a combined PTR for our February and summer trip!

I love the Lobby at both YC and BC - one of my all time favorite resort shops is the one at YC -probably my favorite resort shop and one of the top in all of WDW. BC shop used to be better but they had to make is smaller to accommodate BCV guests with a store for needed items.

All those beautiful photos are enticing - another stay at BC or YC might be in order next trip! Oh, except I will have Sophia - she would like to stay in a Princess room....but I can rent points for about the same cost and we can go deluxe. It is going to be a dilemma!

Wow - your pictures are especially nice in this update! So vibrant!

That darn Beaches and Cream is always busy. Cynthia and I tried to eat there in October, but the wait was 45 minutes at 1pm. Forget it!

What a nice view from your OKW villa!

I would love to try B&C one of these days but ugh on the waits! Maybe someday I can try right before they open....

Sigh, the big verandahs at OKW are the best!!!!!!!!!! I love the shop at the YC, it is probably my favorite on on property, though it might tie with AKL. What a lovely update!

I'm so glad we didn't have a long wait at Beaches & Cream. We got there around 5:30 and were seated in five minutes. :)

Love your pictures from your patio at OKW and the pics you took at the Beach Club. I didn't realize you were staying at the Beach Club in August (I'm staying there in June on my girls trip).

Both lobbies are amazing, even though YC lobby looks more "adult" ... there are always quite a few kiddos in the BC lobby! ;)

Christine, I think Sophia would enjoy the Princess room faar more than a studio at a deluxe. The Princess rooms really are magical and we just love POR. :thumbsup2

That dang beaches and cream is busy all the time. But oooh so good!

We have been so lucky at B&C sometimes. Maybe it was because we were just a party of two, but we have never really waited long. When we overheard how long the wait was supposed to be, we were just shocked.
But since we will be staying at the BCV in August we should be fine and get in. :yay:

Thank you, Mary Ellen! We LOVE :cloud9: to spend time in the BC/YC/Boardwalk area - so beautiful.
Yes B&C is always busy, but so worth it! Their food is truly yummy and their ice cream creations are out of this world! :thumbsup2

All this cruise anf food talk has me needing to once again check the menus for the Dream !!!:rotfl2:

Wait till we actually GET to the cruise part, Rosie. I promise, I will make your mouth water! ;)

You HAVE TO try B&C with the kids, Cynthia! They will LOVE the Kitchen sink. Such a fun thing to order. But be sure to be hungry when you go there, it's HUGE!!!
We love the large verandas at OKW. So peaceful sitting out there, sipping a nice beverage.
I love the shop at the YC too! Such a fun shop .... and the one at OKW :lmao: guess because we spend so much time there! ;)

We have mostly been very lucky with B&C, Kathy, I just wasn't happy with waiting 30 minutes for a table esp. since there were a lot of people checking in ahead of us. :sad2:

I posted a lot of news including the BCV stay on my PTR, Kathy! :thumbsup2

We also love BCV and B&C. The location is great and we walk over to the
Boardwalk and sometimes find magicians, plus a stop in the Boardwalk bakery is also a nice treat.

Sorry to hear about Tom's back. Send him get well wishes from us! :goodvibes

Hi Karin! I have been absent from the DIS for months, but I am working on getting caught back up. I just finished your mini-DLRP trip report and loved it! :woohoo: It was so fun to see all the pictures of the different resorts, the shops, and the park. Thanks for sharing!

Now I am going to go back and get caught up on the Florida trip. :thumbsup2

We have stayed at YC before, but BCV is a first for us. And I am so excited about it. B&C right there - which means ice-cream galore and the BW Bakery right across Crescent lake. :goodvibes

Tom is doing better. He is getting treatments at the doctors and they seem to help. He is out of work for at least this week. I am really happy he is home and getting some rest. :thumbsup2

Welcome back! :goodvibes
Isn't it funny, how real life sometimes interferes with our DIS life. ;)

I am glad you enjoyed our DLRP trip report - it was short but a lot of fun! :thumbsup2
Need to update on my Florida trip, but it is getting late here, so I guess it will have to wait until tomorrow. ;)

Off to check it out right now :)

See ya there. :goodvibes

We just stayed at the Beach Club and we loved having walk-in access to Epcot and boat access to Hollywood Studios. Plus, the whole Epcot resorts area was so beautiful your pictures really took me back! Wish I was still there!!

Darn that real life! I would much rather be DIS'ing!

I am now caught up through your first WDW day. I had to comment because I just loved, loved, loved all the CR pics. Your room looks amazing, and the view is incredible! What a great start to your WDW stay! :woohoo:

And the CG dinner - YUMMMMMMMM!

We fell in love with the area while staying at the YC a few years back. I always wanted to go back, but with the prices at the YC in the height of summer we just always changed to other resorts.
Now being DVC we secured a stay at BCV for summer 2013! :woohoo:

Me too! ;) But we all need to earn that money for Mickey, don't we? :rotfl2:

We so enjoyed the CR! The view from that room was just outstanding. And I LOVED the room itself. Sp pretty and so peaceful. :goodvibes

Day 10, August 20

Fun at the Studios and a change of plans - Part 2

It was pretty hot inside the boat and we were happy to get off at the Studios.
We made it to bag check just before the next tram load of people did and headed to the turnstiles.

Once inside the park we fled into the shops

and took our time to look around to cool down a bit.

IMG_5123.jpg

We headed over to the tip board and found that most rides had too long a line to be easily done with before our Fantasmic lunch at Mama Melrose. Fastpass times were either too far out or too close to our lunch time, so we decided to just play it by ear.
We headed towards Toy Story Mania and were pleasantly surprised to find an open bar. It was hot, we did not have any rides to get on, so what better idea than to have a nice cool drink.
We both opted for a frozen drink. Tom had the

IMG_5125.jpg

Frozen Golden Margarita and I had a

IMG_5124.jpg

Pina Colada. We were lucky enough to score one of the small tables and sat and enjoyed our cold treats. It was quite some time that we sat and people watched until we had finished our drinks

IMG_5126.jpg

and headed over to the Streets of America. We explored New York a little bit,

IMG_5127.jpg

then walked around San Francisco,

IMG_5129.jpg

before we walked towards Mama Melrose.

We were a little early and they told us we would have to wait until our assigned time, but were given a beeper and told that we could check out the stores around the restaurant. We headed into the store opposite and Tom tried on a few fun hats.
There were lots of signs to be read and laughed about and then we finally went across the street to check out the Christmas Store. Window shopping done, we made our way back to the air conditioned restaurant.
Again, we were lucky, as after hitting the restrooms we found an empty bench to sit and wait. It took about another 10 minutes, where we saw them turn away all the walk ins, before our beeper went off and we were led to a table. This time we were seated towards the back of the restaurant and our server was a fun young lady.
She introduced herself and told us about what to expect when having a Fantasmic Package. Not that we had not known about that, but she was very enthusiastic when she told us all about it. Then she took our drinks order, which were Diet Cokes again and left us to study the menu while she went to fill our order. When she returned she not only brought our drinks but she brought a basket full of

IMG_5134.jpg

dinner rolls and a plate with

IMG_5135.jpg

some butter. The plate was hot and the butter had already started to melt. We placed our order and started to nibble on the bread. It didn’t take long and our starters arrived, brought out by a food runner. Tom had ordered the

IMG_5139.jpg

Oak-fired Mussels, cooked in a spicy tomato butter with grilled onions and herb croutons, and I got the

IMG_5137.jpg

Fresh Mozzarella and Vine-ripened Tomatoes with marinated sweet onions, balsamic drizzle, basil-scented olive oil and fresh sweet basil. We both enjoyed our choices very much and our empty plates were quickly removed once we had finished. And out came our main courses. Tom’s was the

IMG_5144.jpg

IMG_5143.jpg

Wood-grilled Tuna over a seasonal Vegetable Risotto, warm Vine-ripened Diced Red and Yellow Tomatoes, and Olive-Caper Butter and I had ordered the red meat dish, the

IMG_5140.jpg

Charred Strip Steak with five-cheese baked macaroni, aged balsamic-shallot butter, and Chianti Wine Reduction. Again, neither of the choices disappointed and we worked hard to clean our plates. Our server was really busy with larger parties all around us, and we were quite happy not to have to order dessert right away. When our server took the dirty plates away, she informed us that dessert would be two randomly picked dessert items and she was going to bring them right out. It took about 10 minutes for our desserts to arrive, but we did not mind. A little break between courses felt really good. Our two desserts were the

IMG_5145.jpg

IMG_5149.jpg

Chocolate Cannoli Cake with cannoli and Nutella filling and the

IMG_5148.jpg

Chocolate Amarettini Cheesecake, Chocolate-flavored Cheesecake with a Cookie Crust, Almond Cream, and Italian Amarettini Cookies. We both picked at the desserts, not that they would not have been good, but we were both really full. Once we had finished our meal and received our voucher to get into the special viewing area for Fantasmic, we paid our bill and headed out into the park again. By then the crowds were really thick

IMG_5151.jpg

and after checking the wait times at the tip board again, we decided to head back to our resort to chill for a while. When we headed over to the boat landing

we saw a Friendship coming in and walked quickly over to join the line.
