If we can DREAM it, we can do it! ..... another 30 day vacation Update 02/07

LOVE the update and photos, Karin!! Shopping is always fun!

I've only been to WDW once with a car and we did visit an Outlet Mall - it had a Dooney and Burke store... :). My friend and I bought news Keds, no Dooney and Burke. ;) It poured the entire 4 days and was cold and raw - so we needed new Keds. :) Weather never stops us - we just put on the ponchos and keep going!:thumbsup2

Those breakfast pizzas always look so good!::yes::

Great updates! So much good food on this trip! Rain is no fun, but it is a little easier to enjoy at WDW with a Mickey Bar :rotfl:

For us it is part of the whole US vacation experience. :goodvibes And who doesn't like to shop? ;)

There is an outlet store on Vineland, that has a D&B (no Disney though) and a Vera Bradley as well.
You know, I don't mind the rain too much. We were there during Hurricane Fay and she seemed to enjoy the Orlando area as she stayed forever. While it was wet, the parks were empty and SOOOOOO much fun, even at the height of August. :thumbsup2

Well said! There is NOTHING that a Mickey bar cannot heal. :rotfl2: While at OKW we always have some in the freezer, just in case something doesn't work MY way. :lmao:
More yum yum food coming up soon. :goodvibes

I was there during Faye too! Where did you stay that year? Would have been 2008 - I was at SSR (that nice one bedroom), then had to extend due to Faye so moved over to POP. We always get a kick being there during a Tropical storm or hurricane. :)

We were at Riverside! Loved it there. :thumbsup2
I can't believe we were there at the same time. :goodvibes

Our paths had already crossed before we met here!:goodvibes

For years the last week of August was when we always went - then again for a long weekend in the winter - often February! I'd love to take Sophia a few days in August - already have air (thanks to a lovely Birthday from a certain pas  ). Mia held POP for August 25 for 4 ngts. - would rather not stay there in the August heat, if possible. Sophia will be home tonight so we shall see how she feels about another WDW visit this year! ;)

Great updates Karin. Those breakfast pizzas always look so good. I thought we would go there in Dec, but never made it there. We are also used to the summer rain and always expect it, but this summer trip seemed to be a lot more. It usually stops by nighttime, but I remember many nights walking and watching fireworks in the rain. We were also there during Fay, the storm that never left, Rachel said her poncho was her new best friend.

I can't believe, we have actually been there at the same time, Christine! And it only took us HOW LONG to find out? :rotfl2:

We always went some part of August. When we first started out we would go late July into mid August, but when I started booking myself we pushed it back until the last few days of my holiday to be able to get some nice discounts. ;)
Christine, Pop isn't bad! And it will be hot no matter what resort you are at. And how much time will you actually spend at the resort?
Plus ....... what you save on the resort can go towards nice souvenirs for Sophia (and maybe a few nice dinners as well). ;) :thumbsup2

Isn't it funny how we NOW find out we were all there at the same time? Fay was a "killer" - every morning we would just say - Fay is here to stay. But at least the rain was not too bad and the parks were empty. We loved being able to walk on most of the rides in August.

You have to try the breakfast pizzas on day, Elaine. They are so yummy!

And you are right about this summer's rain. It would just linger on much longer than usual.

Day 11, August 21

A fun day and extra magic at night - Part 2

We had a reservation at Kouzzina and were cutting it close for our ADR, but made it to the Boardwalk just in time.

We walked inside, checked in and were told it would be about 10 minutes, so we walked outside again and enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the Boardwalk and the view of the Yacht and Beach Club.

It didn’t take long and our buzzer went off and we were led into the restaurant. We were led to our table, a four top just a few steps into the restaurant, handed the menu and told that our server would be out to greet us soon. It didn’t take long until he arrived and we placed our drinks order for two Diet Cokes.
When he brought the drinks he also brought out

some warm bread and a small plate with three compartments. One was filled with

a variety of olives and into the other two our server poured two different kinds of olive oil. We sat and nibbled the bread, dipped into the oil and the olives while we waited for our main courses to arrive. Tom had ordered

IMG_5183.jpg

the Traditional Whole Fish, a Pan-roasted Snapper with Braised Greens, Greek Olives, Fennel and Smoked Chili. It came on a large plate and the server kindly fileted it for Tom. I had ordered the

IMG_5178.jpg

Oak-fired Pork Tenderloin with Feta Gremolata, Zucchini Cornbread, and Seasonal Vegetables and we both shared a side of

IMG_5181.jpg

the Sautéed Brussels Sprouts with a Brown Butter Vinaigrette, Capers, and Cheese. Everything was as good as it looked when it first came out and we enjoyed our dinner. We still had dessert to conquer and while I had my mind set on

IMG_5188.jpg

the Loukoumades, Freshly Made Greek Doughnuts drizzled with warm Honey and Cinnamon, Tom chose

IMG_5184.jpg

the Greek Yoghurt variations. Greek Yoghurt, flavoured with vanilla and served

with Blueberries,

IMG_5186.jpg

Brown Sugar and

Cherries, all of them drizzled with honey. And while I was disappointed they no longer served vanilla and raspberry dipping sauces with the Loukoumades, Tom was pretty happy with his light, yet flavourful dessert. Once we had finished our desserts, we asked for the bill and used our Dining Plan credits to pay for our dinner. Once everything was settled we walked outside and over to Epcot to enjoy the rest of the Extra Magic Hours there.

To be continued ............

The food llooked good !!I would be a little scared of something that had to be filleted at the table . But it did look very good !!!

Great pictures from the Boardwalk area - it is so pretty there. Kouzzina looks delicious - I could eat some of those donuts right now!

Great update! Your dinner looks so good!! The only time we have been to WDW that was very rainy was March 2011 and everyone said that was a fluke but oh my word!! Was it ever rainy! However, as they say...better to be in rainy Disney than at work! And it gave us the chance to explore the resort and plenty of time in the POP arcade which the kids loved!!

YUMMY! Both of your meals look so relish. My DH and I ate at Narcoossees once and he ordered the whole fish, but no one filleted it for him. Not a good experience. :rotfl:

I think I'm due for some Kouzinna!

Great Updates!

Wow beautiful day.. but looked pretty hot.

I have never tried Beaches and Cream. I always hear there is such a wait... maybe that is why I have never tried it.

Mama melrose..love the food, but seems odd how they are changing the dessert option for the fantasmic package. When we were there we got a sampling... not just two random desserts.

Too funny about the use of the ECV :rotfl:

The down pours on our last trip were crazy too. Hot beautiful day had these incredible storms roll in.

Yum, your dinner at Kouzzina looks great! I think Kouzzina is another one of those restaurants that is a bit less travel to by most.....and such a shame because it is a nice place!

Kouzzina looks really good, I don't see too many reviews of this restaurant (apart from the odd breakfast)

I love Greek yoghurt so Tom's dessert would be perfect for me :)

Wow, that was some meal at Kouzzina - I so enjoy seeing photos of places I will never eat. Heck, I just LOVE seeing food photos!!!

What did you order that was just okay? But I am glad the rest of your party enjoyed their food. :thumbsup2

We call it the "former" Belz Mall. I looked it up, it is called Orlando Premium Outlets on International Drive and it is past Universal. You take the Sand Lake Road exit, then follow the I-drive towards Orlando. It's a pretty large Mall.

I had the omelet and it was just okay; Des had the corn flake french toast or whatever it is (yuck), Andy had a breakfast pizza. For the life of me, I can't remember what Mark had.

We've never done that outlet. We do the one that's about 10 minutes from Disney.

Well, I have to say the only part of that meal I'd be eating is the donuts...they look so yummy (and fattening for my mother of the groom dress). :lmao:

Wonderful pictures of the area.

Isn't it funny how we NOW find out we were all there at the same time? Fay was a "killer" - every morning we would just say - Fay is here to stay. But at least the rain was not too bad and the parks were empty. We loved being able to walk on most of the rides in August.

It is funny that we were in WDW at the same time for years...we probably passed each other in the parks. Scott was on the Disney Wonder during Fay and he said it was terrible. He had to dock in Ft. Lauderdale and they bused him up to Orlando.

Kouzzina looks good, but Howie, Scott or Rachel would not eat the food there.

I got behind again and I have to say I am so glad that you didn't update too much. I looked at the food after I ate, so n need to lick the screen this morning! :rotfl2:

The boardwalk is so beautiful. I just love the whole areas looks. I have yet to really hang out there, but have seen it from the Yacht and Beach clubs at night and it's beautiful. I have walked through it once too and I really need to get over there again and do more.
