Would you normally bring your girlfriends along? Or do you have to have a date? :confused3 Just wondering, since our dance is on Friday. It's called "Cupid's Crush."
EDIT: Forgot to say, this is a 7th grader here. I was just wondering since my friend's friend said he was thinking about taking someone, but wasn't sure who.

you never have to have a date.

I agree. Our school doesn't do the whole date thing, even in high school. I mean, sure we bring dates to prom and maybe homecoming, but it's not such a big deal.

So if I were to go to a Valentine's Dance this year, I'd bring my friends, just because I wouldn't want the pressure of a date right now. My advice is to just go with who you want, and have fun! :cheer2:

::yes::

i personally would like to take my girl friends along because guys usually just slow dance with you but your girls will dance to the slow songs with you if you're dateless and they'll dance with you to the fast songs so you arent the only one dancing like a dork! :goodvibes :rotfl:

This is a rumor, but I think it's true because I went to the Halloween dance. My school said you can't slow dance. From what you said before, my guy friends were dancing to "Everytime We Touch" in like a really funny dorky dance. It was so hilarious! :lmao:

Dates for dances is kind of overrated...
I mean you generally won't spend all your time together, you're dancing, so it's probably not the best idea to ask someone you hardly know out to a dance, it would be better to put them in a 'let's get to know each other situation'. You'd probably end up with your friends, and his with his...
Dances in general are overrated IMHO.

Slow dancing in grade seven? Well, if you didn't have dances in grade 5 & 6, it might look sweet, but sometimes it just kind of looks strange and feels strange because the guys are at an awkward stage where they're still shorter than most of the girls.

True. The 8th graders don't slow dance. They do some other freaky-looking thing. Besides, how do you "dance" to today's "in" music anyways? You can't dance to Rap/Hip-Hop. They never play Country music at the party either. :sad1:

its just not appropriate for school.

Usually the girls' move their body up and down. Not sure if that's what your reffering to. The guys' usually breakdance or do some stupid yet funny dance.

I never have a date to dances, but then again I have never had a date.

Just waiting for the perfect guy.

7th grade, I went with my girls. I mean then you can dance with everyone and anyone you want. 8th grade, I went with a date. Both were fun. But if you don't get a date, don't worry about it, you dont need a date, dances are alot funner I find without them

hahahaha! all my guy friends who have "girlfriends" dance to the slow songs with them then totally ditch the, until another slow song......:sad2: but there is 3 of em, who will dance to any song. :rotfl:

Honestly...I wouldn't go if I was asked by a guy....Seriously.. I LOVE going to things with FRIENDS. We all dance around and act crazy. <333 With guys you get all nervous and wanting to impress them, and don't tend to have as much friends.

at dances.
when you dance to hip hop.
it's hip gyrating and many narsty moves.
girls enjoy getting up in a circle together at my school (I don't), a guy or two will join, but not all of them. it'll only get worse next year.

if we play country it's only been 'Save a Horse' and 'Not Ready To Make Nice' (for a slow song?)

At my school's Homecoming dance, they played "How To Save A Life" for a slow song. It wasn't even the acoustic version, so it wasn't slow at all. :confused3 People were actually talking about what a NOT slow song instead of dancing to it lol.

My guy friend asked me if I was going to the dance. I said "Yes, why?" He said "Oh, my friend wanted to know." My friend Allison said "Oh Tom's friends are Kenny. Kenny likes you." So, I asked 20 questions about him. This is what I know:
He has black hair
He's kinda pudgy, but not very
He's a 7th grader
That's all that I know. From what Tom said I think he's gonna ask me. I'm nervous. I don't know what to say. Help!
