I will probably stay off property as even with parking fees it will be cheaper and probably include breakfast.

However, since I will now have to travel I am also thinking of slicing some days off WDW and also visiting Universal and Legoland.

In fact, if they dont decide soon, I may just cut WDW to 2 days and visit Seaworld, Aquatica and Busch Gardens which would be very cheap if I get a pass that includes Sesame Place (PA) for this summer.

Food for thought (No pun intended)

Just looked - its only $195 for AP to Seaworld/Busch Gardens/Aquatica/Sesame and that includes parking and 30% off food

more budget friendly vacations.

We just got back from Dollywood and the Smokies and we loved it. We went during the Festival of Nations and it's not country acts during that time in Dollywood. It feels a bit like Epcot's WS. We went at the end of the festival and then we got to see the country acts when they crossed over to the regular shows. There are deals for meals there, too. Their Aunt Granny's buffet is 2 for 1 with coupon if you go after 4pm.

We are going to Colonial Williamsburg in June.

Unless, Disney offers free dining or similar discount we won't go this December; it has to be with a deal for me to stay on-site. If there are no deals then I will stay offsite, as well, if we go there in December. Without a deal I may skip it all together.

I have learned there are other vacations that are enjoyable, too and much cheaper. I've been to Disney over 30 times through the years and I just won't go without a deal and stay on property.

Agreed. We are currently booked at POR, but I can save more money (even if I inlcude parking fees) if I rent a house in Davenport. In the past, we've gotten our snacks and waters at Walmart and we can have pizza when we get back at night (or TV dinners or whatever the kids want). We normally don't eat that much, but we enjoy the free dining for (1) the convenience and (2) being able to try new restaurants (something my picky children would normally never do).

So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but have a back-up plan if need be.

And, you know what? Now that I think of it....if there's no FD, I may cut a day or two off of our Disney days and visie SeaWorld (which my two year old would LOVE) and/or Universal.

We said we wouldn't go in Dec of 11 or Feb of 12 (still trying to decide) without free dining and we're sticking to it. If we do go to Orlando, we'd rent offsite and venture out beyond WDW for the first time.
