BUSH

:teeth: As well as my military friends supporting him.

Bush.
DH loves Bush, as he keeps him "employed and deployed". That is a direct quote by the way. Bush has strong military support from DH unit and while there are alot of issues I disagree with, Bush does alright for military families. Not sure how civilians feel, but I like it when we get raises, small as they are, and while I miss DH while he's deployed (he's headed back to Iraq next month) I know he supports Bush 100% (he is after all he's commander-in-chief) and since I support DH 100%, it kind of just trickles down to Bush. This is just my opinion though.
I am now putting on my flame-retardent suit.

This just hit my mailbox...

John Kerry is continuing his negative attacks on the President this week and exploiting the high cost of gasoline to do it.

President Bush is concerned about rising gas prices, and will continue to stay on top of this matter. There are steps that can and are being taken. Congress needs to continue to work on and adopt a national energy policy that will, among other things, allow for increased production here at home so we're less dependent on foreign sources.

They've been trying to do this for several years. John Kerry opposed the energy policy and has even sought to raise gas taxes over the years. That support for higher gas prices would have increased the prices beyond where they are today.

How can you help spread the word?

* Visit www.GeorgeWBush.com to watch "Wacky," our ad featuring Kerry's support for higher gas taxes.
* Forward "Wacky" to your friends so they can see John Kerry's support for gas taxes.
* Write a letter to the editor of your local paper to remind them of John Kerry's track record.
* Use our Gas Tax Calculator to see what Kerry's support of a 50 cent gas tax would cost your family.
* Make a donation using our secure server and keep ads like these on the air.

With your support, the truth will get out and we'll shine a light on John Kerry's wacky ideas.
Sincerely,

Ken Mehlman
Campaign Manager

Guess how I voted? (hint: see my signature picture)

ABB!

I'm sorry I just can't support him anymore. I'm not fond of Kerry either, but at this point it the lesser of two evils.

BUSH, BUSH, BUSH and only BUSH.

I consider myself a die-hard Republican, but I disagree with the party on many fronts. I am a supporter of Affirmative Action, I do not believe in the death penalty, I support taxing the top 5% of earners by about 50% more than they are taxed now, I support a living wage (Go head Ralph!), I am an extreme tree-hugging enviromentalist, I did not support welfare reform, I am in favor of big time campaign finance reform, I think we should nationalize health care, it is a travesty that so many Americans are uninsured and will continue to be, I support gay marriage, and I believe the government can be the solution to many of America's problems. That being said, I'd rather shoot myself than vote for Kerry.

I am about as pro-life as they come, I could never vote for a pro-choice candidate even if I agreed with them on every issue other than that one. This does not come from religious views, I haven't been to a church for anything other than a wedding since I was 12. I just do not think that your average person should make the decision of who is good enough to live and who should die. Partial birth abortion is worse than the slaying of Nick Berg. And if you're pro-choice, you better be happy your parents were pro-life. I support lower taxes for 95% of Americans, I support government funded faith bases initiatives, I'm in favor of the Patriot Act, I oppose almost all gun control, I think activist judges are ruining our great Constitution, as a future teacher I am a big fan of the No Child Left Behind Act, and I agree 1,000,000,000% with the War on Terror and will do everything possible to help Bush win!

On 9/11 Bush faced the enemy with decisiveness and furor. He had the courage to do what was right for America. He could have let us get walked all over and done nothing to prevent this from happening in the future (ala Bill Clinton). In something as big as this war of terror, of course there will be huge mistakes along the way. I am extremely angry about the treatment of prisoners. But the media is not giving the public the vast majority of the news in the war on terror, which is overwhemlingly positive. Iraqis appreciate what we did, what we did was right. We must not just abandon this cause, it would be cowardly and unAmerican to do so. We must continue to fight terror, or 9/11 will occur again... and again.

A Vote for Bush is the only option I have, even if I disagree with him on half of the issues. As an American, I feel after 9/11 it is my responsibility to fight for my country in the ballot box. Go head G-Dubs!

And if you're pro-choice, you better be happy your parents were pro-life.

I'm happy my parents were pro choice, actually. People seem to confuse the fact that pro choice means HAVING a choice. It doesn't mean pro abortion.

I think they should change it to "Pro-Abortion" and "Anti-Abortion" ... actually most of the time on the news I hear that "Pro-lifers" are "Anti-abortion activists" lately anyway, so where halfway there.

Because I am pro choice on a lot of other issues, like guns, schools, who you can hire to do a job, etc. But I'm sure most pro-"Choice" people out there are not.

No, I think you misunderstood what I said. My parents (as well as myself) are pro choice advocates -- which means we believe in a woman's right to choose what happens to her own reproductive system. We believe there is more than one choice. We don't advocate abortion, but we don't want women dying in back alleys. We don't make judgement on grace, salvation, etc. - we believe that is between the woman and her higher power(s) and we believe other humans should butt out. In short, we believe that women, in consultation with their doctors and loved ones, should have absolute control over what happens to their own bodies. Hence, pro CHOICE.

Just wanted to make that perfectly clear.

I also might add that most "pro lifers" I know care very little about the life they so vehemently champion when its in the womb once its been born. Particularly when its a life born to poverty and dispair, then it becomes not their problem, or a burden to society.

That was perfect snoopy! ::yes::

The voting is a lot closer than I expected. I thought that Bush would do a lot better because these boards seem a bit conservative.

Particularly when its a life born to poverty and dispair, then it becomes not their problem, or a burden to society.

Indeed, then they are part of social welfare programs that most "pro-lifers" want ended. So many unwanted kids out there! Sure, there are many who want to adopt but not many who want to adopt minority, drug addicted, disabled babies or the countless older children that few want. What is even MORE sickening is when a committed gay couple want to adopt the children nobody else wants...they are not good enough. They are fine to take them our of the system as foster parents but not good enough to become their "real" family.

Just what we need, more unwanted/neglected/abused children in the United States.

Edited to add: Very few things in life are entirely black and white.

So true Mos Mom.

I should say that this isn't always the case. I do have one friend who is pro life, but puts her money where her mouth is, so to speak. She adopted her mixed-race daughter from someone who felt that abortion was her only option, until my friend took her in & supported her througout her pregnancy. She also works for a program that doesn't try to demonize abortion or use scare tactics, but instead provides food, shelter, access to medical care, and facilitation of adoption services to women who might otherwise choose abortion because they didn't see any other way. This program also helps the women after the babies are born, which is very unusual. These "pro life" advocates are doing a real service to many women and their babies, and I have nothing but admiration for them.

I truly believe those who believe abortion is murder should be willing to do something positive to help lessen the need. That does not include standing outside an abortion clinic berating women who enter. Some may argue that they are not morally obligated for the opinion they hold, but I disagree. If its truly "murder" and abortion should be illegal, then someone better come up with solutions as to what to do with these babies that aren't wanted by mothers who's choices were limited. I pray that Roe vs Wade is never reversed, but I have to say with GWB in office I do worry that it might. :(
