If they announced a timeline and, for example, said everything back to normal Nov 1st, how many people planning a trip this summer would postpone? Disney needs people to visit every month to keep operations. I think it will all come back eventually, and there won’t be much notice when it does.
But they are announcing stuff.
Return of FOTLK
More hotel openings
More restaurant openings
Character meals returning
Stuff they are doing for the 50th
So the natural assumption is, if they haven't announced it yet, it's not on the horizon.
Fantasmic should absolutely be prepping for a return.
Don't want people to congregate in the parks for fireworks? Fine, send them off after the lame shortened hours.
At this point, lots of things are being held back to save money by using CV as the excuse. Universal is the underdog, so they can't afford to rely on past loyalty the way Disney is. They are maintaining / attracting business by offering more.
Our group is going in November regardless. We have expiring credits that need to used / grandparents aren't getting younger and kids are getting older. But we've already stopped looking at DVC. We rented points specifically to see what's it like, but there is zero chance of us exploring that any further.
Disney always had that "ya, it's expensive, but you get what you pay for". Now it's just "ya it's expensive"
