I am anticipating fd like everyone else to be released to disney visa card holders on thursday. I also am a aaa memeber. Should I call disney direct to book my reservation or thru aaa? What are the advantages to booking with aaa? Is there another discount? I want to book asap and am afraid of not getting the resort/deal.
Thanks again

I have been wondering this very same thing. Should I book now or wait until Thursday? I think I will book with AAA directly, unless FD would come out then I would just go thru Disney - can you use AAA and get FD? All this is a big "if". I don't want to lose the chance to stay deluxe and then not even get FD. Decisions, decision.

I booked through AAA. If you get a pin or there is an offer, all you need to do is call your AAA agent and they can apply it for you. They book directly through the WDW agency.

I always go with AAA you get all those great member benefits like parade viewing location and storytelling it's really a win win situation they will back any price you really have nothing to lose you get the best rate plus someone to handle it all for you.Good luck!

of course you can they will modify it for you no worries
Thanks, you've just sealed the deal for me. I haven't gotten a pin in 16 years, so I doubt one is going to pop up for me now. I will take the AAA discount and book today - then hopefully FD will be offered.

Why are we speculating thursday..did i miss a post or something (i hope, i hope)

I was speculating thursday because if FD was offered on May 1 as others are speculating - others speculated that possibly it would be offered to DVisa holders 5 days before which would be Thursday. That's alot speculating and "possiblies" :rotfl2::rotfl2::confused3.

There are a lot of speculations right now..Fishin for pixie dust, ourselves..I am a subscriber to the theory that since DV extended the kids deal, that they wont run another deal at the same time. We booked last week under that deal. GOOD Luck!:wizard:

you can certainly book through AAA and use the FD deal, should FD be offered. but you won't be getting the AAA discount AND free dining together. you can only ever use one discount/promo at a time
:goodvibes

You can only have 1 discount, so either AAA discount or Disney Discount

Thanks for all of your help!!
Ok, one last question.
What are the perks of booking thru aaa? I understand that there is either a room discount or the fd(if available) but what else? I am afraid that if I wait until tomorrow and book(keeping my fingers crossed that the fd deal is announced) I might lose out on the resort of my choice. I think by booking directly thru aaa it will be quicker. Any thoughts?
Thanks

AAA is always my last resort discount. The discounts disney offers thru packages is usually the better deal, whatever it may be. As stated, AAA offers a 10% (to my knowledge) discount on rooms only.
AAA is always worth the price of membership, if only for the free tow. however, as it relates to disney, there are other, albeit minimal, perks.
One is diamond parking which takes you to the front of the parking lots..Another would be a percentage discount at some dining locations. To my knowledge there are a couple at downtown disney. We are lucky to have a magellan GPS, which I recommend, that lets us know what restaurants have aaa discounts.
Sometimes there are purchase discounts, but not on property to my knowledge.
I usually try to keep my eyes open on the disney specials before i pull out the AAA.:teacher:

Awaiting the offer...we took advantage of a lower rate last week through the PIN number...I assume if free dining is available, that you cannot combine this with the PIN discount? We are in All Star Music...normally what type of dining plan would be associated (not sure if the plan is tailored to the resort you are in)?

I did AAA last year and even though the rate was better my agent was awful. At the time I had 3 trips booked with her and when the Disney deals came out I missed all 3 because she did not even know they were out there- awful! One was on the Magic. Make sure you have a good agent and be on top of things yourself, as someone said the rooms go fast- I was working when the deals came out and missed them- I was livid. You can't combine but she could have applied the code to my acct.

They also own the reservation and you are not allowed to do anything yourself.Never again for me.

I booked thru AAA yesterday because I didn't have any pins, codes, etc....and saved about $200 versus booking thru disney directly. I didn't want to lose my resort of choice and FD can always be added on to your AAA reservation. I saw these "perks": AAA benefits include AAA Diamond Card, AAA preferred parking pass and souvenir luggage tags.

Our first trip to WDW was through AAA, but we did not renew our membership. Someone up above said that AAA has parade viewing locations. I don't remember that. Can someone fill me in? Thanks!

You don't have to book thru AAA to get the AAA room discount of 10%. You can just call Disney directly and tell them you have AAA and they will apply the discount to your reservation. That is what I did. Takes out the middle person; now if a better offer comes out, I can just call myself and I don't have to wait for a AAA agent to apply it.
