If only Tinker Bell was related to the tooth fairy... (FINISHED 4/26)

April 30, 2010

After waving goodbye to the fairies we spent some time wandering the park, ate some food, then ended back up at the front entrance to MK. Wound up taking the train to Frontierland. A few pics before we head over:

All aboard!

DD getting goofy:

Our plan was to get on the riverboat before the end of the day, but alas we were too late. So I snapped a pic of the HOP's since the sky was looking so cool:

Then we started to head back over to BTMR... pics along the way:

I'll probably get in trouble for posting this picture, but I just HAVE to!! This may actually be a one-of-a-kind picture that will never be found again... DW giving me a funny face.. in public! :lmao::lmao:

DD to this day STILL talks about seeing the red eyes on BTMR. It freaked her out the first time she rode it in 2008. Now it's more of a thing she has to find each time she rides it.

We make an attempt to get over to Space Mountain before we leave for the day... hey... didn't we just see you in Frontierland?

Well... too bad for me, the line for SM was too long, so we ended up leaving right away. DD was really looking forward to her pool time. And here is how we ended day 4 of our trip:

Good night, sweet princess!

Next up: Day 5, Part 1: "International Travel... and curse you, Tooth Fairy!"

Well, we all read Disney TR's in order to get glimpses of unique experiences we might otherwise miss at the parks. I guess a bloody tooth socket fits that definition. :rotfl2:

Still, it seems highly appropriate that it happened in the fairies area, and it's great how they played along talking about the Tooth Fairy.

Looks like it was a fun day!

Wow...two in one day. I am impressed (Mark, Barry, Tim...you paying attention here????).

Love the photo of you and your wife (and your daughter tucked behind) on Big Thunder. It is fun to have those kinds of pictures...even if they are done in public. ;)

I swear I saw that same bird a couple of months ago in the same exact spot. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

OK... I've challenged myself to get this TR done before we leave for our next trip... in 5 days, 22 hours!
What? You suddenly have a problem with being 2 trips behind??? :lmao:

OK... you don't have to laugh THAT hard! HAHA!
Yes. Yes we do.

So I let her put her hands all in my bag and root around for the flavor of choice and comes out with 3 instead of 1. Nice try. I give her the I-don't-think-so look and silently one piece goes back into the bag.
Ah, come on Dad! We're in Disney World!

I love seeing the final smile of victory on my DD's face after our little banter. DW on the other hand, does not enjoy playing this game of cat-and-mouse. Funny how we handle situations differently.
Sounds like you need to get a copy of that manual that Mark found in Kentucky.

I'll probably get in trouble for posting this picture, but I just HAVE to!! This may actually be a one-of-a-kind picture that will never be found again... DW giving me a funny face.. in public! :lmao::lmao:

Great picture! :thumbsup2 :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Wow... I'm surprised the mods haven't closed this one out yet! :lmao: OK... I'll give this thing one more shot.

I got excited thinking Don had posted an update only to find that the crickets have returned.

ANOTHER EPCOT DAY!! Woohoooo! But this is no ordinary EPCOT day... this is the first time DD will get to see the World Showcase for what it really is. The only other time she's visited the WS is when we had a reservation at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall for a character meal in 2008. We always get so caught up in Future World that we just don't get across the water. Well... we are going to change that today! :woohoo:

First things first. Let's talk about what happened with the tooth fairy. You see, there must have been some miscommunication between what the Pixie Hollow fairies told their cousins to tell the Tooth Fairy... because when DD woke up in the morning and looked under her pillow, she suddenly became VERY sad. Not only was she sad, but she started to cry! What the?!? I personally talked to the Tooth Fairy and she told me that since it was a special location and that the Pixie Hollow fairies put in a good word, she gave DD a whole $10 bill under her pillow. Normally she only carries $1 bills around, but after all, we WERE in Disney World! Not understanding what the issue was, we started prying information out of DD. Turns out, the Tooth Fairy normally gives DD not only a $1 bill for teeth, but would also give her a small toy to play with. Apparently DD was REALLY looking forward to seeing a toy under her pillow this morning. Awwww... DW and I looked at each other and just shook our heads. DD didn't even care about the money.... just the little toy. Boy, we really have spoiled her. Well... we quickly tried to recover the situation and let DD know that since we were so far away from home that it was a little difficult to get the toy all the way to our room. So we would pick out a toy later in the day and go from there. She seemed ok with this resolution and hugs were given all around. Little girls are hard to please! lol!

Oh... and there's something I left out of the ending from day 4. DD had found some friends that night while we were in the pool. They played "all night" together and found out that they were staying in the same building. AND... turns out that their room was right above the first room we were assigned. Go figure! Unfortunately, the family was getting ready to leave this day to go back home. Somehow DD has talked them into playing together this morning before we hit the park. My DD had been pleading with me since we got to CSR to go check out the arcade by the pool. Well... we DID have a certificate to get $10 in free tokens, so we all headed to the arcade. DD REALLY enjoyed it and didn't want to leave. Neither did the other kids. But their dad was prodding them and they really needed to get going. Here are a few shots from this meeting:

We said our final goodbyes to our new friends and departed for Epcot. By the time we get to Epcot it was getting to be about lunch time. From the main entrance we stroll on down past Spaceship Earth and on to Innoventions East... finding ourselves making a slight pit stop to Nate's favorite store:

I manage to pull my money-spending shoppers out of the store with my wallet intact and get us pointed towards International Gateway. Our choice of lunch for this day is Boardwalk Bakery. This is our first time taking a walk in that direction of the park... a new adventure by all! Here are some shots along the way to WS:

(Getting hungry just posting this one...)

This lunch was DW's pick. Having the Boardwalk Bakery on the list of QSDP restaurants made this a no-brainer for her. She's always wanted to check out the Boardwalk area and this was the way to do it! We chose to take the walk over instead of the boat ride to see how long it would take. And it's not a bad walk at all... maybe 7 minutes or so. But we quickly determined that as the temperature started rising, we knew we'd be taking the boat ride back.

Not sure what DD was looking at here...

It was very strange to see the boardwalk area so desolate. There were maybe about 20 families at best that we saw during our time there. Apparently the spring break times were really over and we very much enjoyed the light crowds. The sandwiches we had were very good... and the desserts even better! We definitely plan to visit here again in the future.

With lunch down the hatch it was time to go back to Epcot. This time is was on the boat. On the dock, waiting for the boat to arrive:

There she is!

Back to International Gateway:

Have to say this... the boat ride was much easier! :lmao: And even with the wait it takes about the same amount of time as if one walked the distance. Either way, the landscape is beautiful and we all fell in love with the Boardwalk area. We decided then that our next stay at WDW would be at one of the Boardwalk resorts if possible.

Next up: Day 5, Part 2: "Our first trip around the world!"

Hmmm... no update = chatter... update = silence. :teacher: Interesting....

May 1, 2010

After we disembark from the luxurious boat at International Gateway, our first stop was to the gift shop on the corner. The girls were just looking around to see what goodies they could find... ok... admittedly, I was too. DW MADE me take pictures of the ceiling because she thought it was sooooo cool:

Well... it turned out that I found something I liked in the store anyway! I had been trying to find a Disney earring that didn't look like I took it out of my DD's jewelry box and I happened to run across a black pair of Mickey head ones. Of course, after I buy them I start hearing how DD and DW both want to wear them instead of me. Umm... get your OWN earrings. HAHA! So here is what it looked like in my ear:

So let's start our trip around the world, shall we? This trip starts at International Gateway and goes counter-clockwise around WS. I'll let the pictures do the talking here:

And look who came out to greet people this day... Marie!

Peek-a-boo, Belle... I see you!

And then we cam across this nice gentleman that DD saw from afar. At first DD thought he was a cast member who was trading pins! Sadly for her, he was not trading his pins this day. Nor was he a cast member... haha! He just really likes to collect Disney pins.

Next up: Day 5, Part 3: "Continuing our trip around the world"

Apparently DD was REALLY looking forward to seeing a toy under her pillow this morning. Awwww... DW and I looked at each other and just shook our heads. DD didn't even care about the money.... just the little toy.

Homer: Ten Dollars?! Aw, I wanted a peanut.
Homer's Brain: Ten dollars can buy many peanuts.
Homer: Explain how!
Homer's Brain: Money can be exchanged for goods and services.
Homer: Woohoo!

I manage to pull my money-spending shoppers out of the store with my wallet intact and get us pointed towards International Gateway. Our choice of lunch for this day is Boardwalk Bakery.

So you went all the way to EPCOT just to turn around and leave? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Apparently the spring break times were really over and we very much enjoyed the light crowds. The sandwiches we had were very good... and the desserts even better! We definitely plan to visit here again in the future.

Low crowds and good food = :thumbsup2

Have to say this... the boat ride was much easier!

Rule #1 at Disney: The boats rock.

That is pretty cool. I don't remember seeing that before.

Nice WS pictures! Did you try any spy missions?
