If only Tinker Bell was related to the tooth fairy... (FINISHED 4/26)

After a few moments of listening to the A/C unit humming away in the corner I remember where I'm at... and where we are going to today! Woohoo! It's our Magic Kingdom day!
That is how you start the perfect day! :thumbsup2

Can anyone guess where we are going?? Yep... going to Tomorrowland... to get on Space Mountain! Woohooo!!! :woohoo:
The mountains are always an excellent choice.

Next up... TTA! This happend to be one of DD's favorite rides in MK. She she shares this passion with at least one of the DIS Dads here (yeah... I'm looking at you, Dave).
Um... I think that just about all the DIS Dads have an appreciation for this one.

Yep... she likes tacos now thanks to Disney! +1 to DD for trying something new!
:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

The rest of you... well... you can go outside and play for a little while. We'll ring the bell when it's time to come back in ;)
Exactly how long will we be able to go outside and play before the next update???

We leave for our trip on Thanksgiving night... if you could finish your TR before then, I'd appreciate it.:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I'm not holding my breath though.

I need a smilie for fainting quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:
:faint:

Yawwwwwnnnnn... streeeeetttcccchhhhhh... smack lips... Hmmmm... where am I again?

Huh? What? I think I dozed off, too.

Family fun for everyone!

Cheaters! They're ducking the line! Call security!

Maybe I'm just getting too old... or just too tall... but that ride really kills my neck and back anymore. I spend more time trying to anticipate which direction the car is going to actually enjoy the ride.

Yeah, that's why I stay away from ToT. My back just flares up on that one. I love SM, though. :rolleyes1

TTA is always appreciated in these parts! :thumbsup2

Let's make it official.

+1 :thumbsup2

Not sure who these folks are, but I thought they all looked cute going down the big drop:

Nice pictures! That's a great spot.

I need a smilie for fainting quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Now that wasn't so hard, was it? ;)

And a terrific update too and doing some of our favorite things (well, except COP which I sleep through).

Yes, as a matter of fact, we saw Stitch, Pluto, Goofy, Chip & Dale perform on that stage when we were there last September doing a dance party. It was awesome...they came out and danced with the audience.

:lmao: Yeah.. it wasn't that bad at all! Guess I'll have to make a habit of it :rolleyes1

In all the times I've been there (which isn't many compared to others) I've never seen the stage used. Glad to see it's there for something! Did you dance with the Chip and Dale dancers? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao: Thanksgiving is a little ambitious, don't ya think? haha!

OK... that's interesting. I would have put money on the other way around. :thumbsup2

:lmao: From the master giver himself.

Nice pictures! That's a great spot.

Thanks. I found that to be an interesting spot. Love it when I find something new in the parks!

As we approach Liberty Square I am reminded once again of an attraction that our family has yet to experience together. This is not by my choice. And as a matter of fact, I have been instrumental in making several valiant attempts to lure both of my female companions onto this ride. Unfortunately, all previous attempts have been squashed faster than the "spider" on the Samsung Infuse phone commercial! Being the DIS Dad that I am, my efforts would be doubled this time around! So as the Dutch style mansion came into view I stopped and took in the sight. DW and D both look at me wondering why I stopped in my tracks... then quickly realize what has captivated my attention. Gulp. "So... who wants to go on the Haunted Mansion ride with me?" as my hand is in the air. Crickets.

(You like how I borrowed that guy, Nate! haha) I'm seeing two heads shaking from side-to-side in a strangely similar fashion to someone who would be saying no. But... that can't be right. Surely there must be SOME small part of them that wants to go. "I'll get you a Mickey head ice cream bar if you go with me!". Nada. Zilch. No interest. And not only that... they are now walking away! LOL! Seems they have fairies on their mind... not happy haunts. Oh well. Sniff, sniff. There's always next time.

We manage to get past IASM without any interest to ride it (whew) and find ourselves in Toon Town in no time at all. Before we head into Pixie Hollow we decide to take the tour of Mickey and Minnie's house. Little did we know that these would be the last pictures we would be able to take inside these cozy homes. I probably would have taken some more if I'd known! Let's start off with the big man's house... Enjoy!

Funny how this picture is saying "Get out of the picture, kid!" HAHA!

Love the license plate!

If Mark hadn't been there, I certainly would have. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Hey, I leave in six days and I just saw a second update in two days....so you never know.

:faint:

Thanks!

And then there's Minnie's house:

DD found a nice quiet place to read... lol

I asked for a Minnie face.. not a Goofy face!

And there you have it. The last pictures I'll ever take of my girls in the gazebo. Here's our picture from the year before...

Nice to have these memories in a photo. Will have to start new ones when the Fantasyland expansion is finished. OK... all ya'll who are outside playing... you can come back in now!

Next up: The headliner for the trip report - Day 4, Part 4: "If only Tinker Bell was related to the tooth fairy..."

Great updates, Don. I am going to miss those houses. I can still vividly remember our oldest son having a crying temper tantrum because he wanted to play the "piano" (you had to hear the way he said piano--it was hysterical) and you couldn't go behind the rope.

I always enjoyed walking through the houses and then going off to meet Mickey. So sad that it will be gone.

Love the picture of your DW and DD in the "before" and "after" in the gazebo. Good memories. :thumbsup2

Awww... poor guy. He just wanted to play! That would have been worthy of a video moment... for use during later teen years! :lmao:

Thanks for your kind comments :)

Trust me...we have it on video, and I am holding it for when (IF!) he ever becomes engaged. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

:sad2: How can they turn down a classic????

I hate to ask for a spoiler for the next TR, but since you probably won't get to it for another couple of years, I might as well ask: Did they ride it on your last trip??? :lmao::rotfl2:

Great update! Love the pictures from Toon Town. I appreciated it and will miss it. Something not right about going to Disney World and not being able to see Mickey's House.:rotfl2: It's just a shame that DS will never get a chance to see it.

:faint: Huh? What? (snort, snort) Did someone say something? Must have been a dream............

April 30, 2010

OK... I've challenged myself to get this TR done before we leave for our next trip... in 5 days, 22 hours! OK... you don't have to laugh THAT hard! HAHA! I didn't say I had any common sense, but seriously... going to give it a good try. Might just be a simple picture finale... but it will be done!

Now... where were we? Ah... Toon Town. I'm always mixed when I leave Mickey and Minnie's house. Obviously if I were a kid again the houses would have a different view. But as an adult I still find the decorations to be well done and humorous. I only wished people would be more courteous when walking through the place. Far too many times it's been a pushing match with cranky kids in tow. And with the place now a pile a dirt I can only hold onto the memories of walking through and pointing out hidden Mickeys to my DD... or admiring the kitchen renovation that Mickey's friends so graciously started as a contest entry. Sigh. Queue the music to COP now... "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow..."

Just around the corner, in Mickey's Judges Tent, the fairies are waiting for us to visit them. DD was never really interested in meeting the princesses. She is a tinker all the way (got that from her daddy!). The line was not too long this time... which was strange considering it was right after lunch time. One thing I found cool as we were "becoming fairy sized" was the use of lighted garland that was hung from the ceiling. Here's my best attempt of capturing the effect they had:

Lights without flash:

View of garland with flash:

The theme was pretty cool as we waited:

At this point while waiting in line I had pulled out my bag of Goofy Taffy (My favorite candy in all of WDW). DD spied my precious loot and proceeded to give me her standard "can I have a piece, please?" look that no dad can resist... even for a much prized candy such as this. So I let her put her hands all in my bag and root around for the flavor of choice and comes out with 3 instead of 1. Nice try. I give her the I-don't-think-so look and silently one piece goes back into the bag. She barters once again with the is-that-ok glance... followed closely by my reassuring nod of approval. I love seeing the final smile of victory on my DD's face after our little banter. DW on the other hand, does not enjoy playing this game of cat-and-mouse. Funny how we handle situations differently.

A few minutes go by and suddenly DD grabs my shirt to get my attention. "Dad! My tooth just came out!". Huh? "LOOK! It's stuck in my taffy!" HAHA! Yes, indeed, the taffy had a firm grip of the top right incisor that had been loose for about a week or so. She was sooooooo excited! Not only did she lose a tooth... she lost it in DISNEY WORLD! She couldn't WAIT to show the fairies her lost tooth. She was already beginning to wonder what she's going to get for this opportune incident.

Here are a few pictures right after the tooth came out:

DD with her Webkinz friend, showing off her new smile (minus one tooth):

Here is the Disney art that we were getting signed by the fairies:

And some meet pics. This first one could be part of a photo caption contest!:

BTW... did I mention that DD's favorite fairy is Silvermist? She had been looking forward to this meet for a LONG time (We didn't see her the year before):

Just missed the hug in this shot:

The fairies were very surprised to hear about the loss of DD's tooth and even said they would put out the message to the tooth fairy (through distance cousins) to make sure she knew where DD was. They were concerned the Tooth fairy would not be able to find her so very far away from home! On a side note... I had asked Tinker Bell if it was unusual for visitors to lose teeth in Pixie Hollow and she said "it happens more often than you would think!" Very curious indeed.

Well... all done with Pixie Hollow! So long fairies! See you another time!

Next up: Day 4, Part 5: "Wrapping up day 4"

Look who is here and alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've finished my entire Disney portion of my trip and have started my PTR for my "girls" trip in January, and you show up trying to finish yours with five days to go until your next trip. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Love the visit with the fairies...such great pictures (could have done without the toothless one ;)). I hope the tooth fairy found your DD.

I only WISH I could keep up with other TR's! :lmao: I've got a lot of writing to do just to get this 2010 trip done.... sheesh!

Thank you... and I debated whether or not to put the toothless pic up.... hence the warning! haha!
