If Not By Sea then By Run-June '14 Cruise/Oct '14 ToT 10 Miler/Feb '15 PHM PTR

Yay!!!!! :cool1:

Do you use dailymile? I love it because I put my runs in and then they have a place where you can look at your weekly, monthly, etc. miles and it's like a little graph. I have learned a lot about my running patterns from it! I notice a dip in miles and then a increase about every 3 months and I don't try to get a certain number, I just lot how it happens. It's really interesting. Maybe I just like graphs a bit too much. :lmao:

LOVE that quote. I have never really had an issue with worrying about other people and how they are running...when I push or challenge myself it's always to beat myself or better myself. I think I knew from the beginning there was no point in trying to compete with anyone else.

Oh look, two paragraphs and nothing really funny or snarky. I just woke up, gimmie a sec. :p

AHAHAHAHAHA!!! This reminds me of a story (because I know you want to hear a stupid story about my dog).

When we first got Eddie the Pug.. we took him up to the Northwoods of Wisconsin and onto the pantoon boat. We are cruising the lake and dog keeps running back and forth and my mom says "He looks like he's going to jump"

And I say "He's not going to jump.. we're moving quick- he's not that stupid"

Next thing I know I hear this PLOP and the d#mn dog is gone. He totally jumped off a moving boat. And SUNK. We all go into panic mode because the lake is deep and he's not coming up... So I dive off the boat to try to save him... and suddenly I just see these two gigantic white eyeballs surface. That's all I saw.. gigantic pug eyeballs....

From that point on.. I never once again uttered the statement "He's not that stupid" in refrence to my pug. Because. Well. He is, possibly, not the smartest dog in the world.

Especially when he passes whole afternoons barking at himself in the patio door reflection.

So my point being. I"m totally going to dress him up as a shark this summer and throw him overboard again in that lake to recreate this picture.

Great story Karen...I actually did that same thing (dropping overboard, not the dressing up part...too macho for that) to our 3 month old black lab and I also dove overboard when he sunk like a rock!

Nicole...sorry to be a lurker the last few days...I need things to slow down for a little while. I am trying to figure out where the heck April went!

I love the birthday party! It still had a few girly touches, but what an amazing time your created for your special girl with her special interests! The creatures...well I would of been hanging out near the cake instead!

Great mileage for April! I am getting a little embarrassed now posting my pace when I see yours! Ugh, and you hate running?!

There goes Tammie again, calling you ME and confirming that we truly are tweedles!!!!! :lmao:

Yay for almost hitting that goal. I bet you did three miles just walking around in general so you probably hit it without knowing it!

Oh for sure I hit it if I count walking miles- I do laps at work around our pond when the weathers nice- I think overall, this is why I'm happy with how the month went even though I lost 9 days! Maybe even next month I'll suprise myself and go OVER 40 miles...

Yay!!!!! :cool1:

I use iSmooth Run and it has similar features. Gives me daily, weekly & monthly totals. Might even have a graph although I can't say I ever have found it!

When I first started running last year I found myself being competitive with my SIL- and she's lightyears ahead of me AND is competitive by nature (so there was a bit of egging on, indirectly, by her). And for me it was competitve in the way I felt that I had to train/run the same way she was (not about beating her but by running JUST LIKE HER)..and I was failing and so I was very hard on myself about it. When I finally stepped back and realized that I had to figure out what was best for ME (not her!) I did better. Then it became a war with myself......and I just realized not too long ago when my cousin made the comment "You talk now as if you don't hate running like you used to.. what changed?" that I realized I do not hate it like I did last year. I found peace with my capabilities, my motivation & the way I run. Plus I found some awesome support....

I hear you girl! My May is so crazy I don't know if I'm coming or going with all activities, another birthday to plan, Scout Bridging ceremonies, Campings, Mothers Day. a new work project & getting ready for the cruise.. plus end of school year! I, for the first time, have found myself looking forward to running because it means I can disconnect from everything else that's running through my brain!

DO NOT BE EMBARRASSED! Be proud! Even ONE MILE is better than doing nothing!

There goes Tammie again, calling you ME and confirming that we truly are tweedles!!!!! :lmao:

We are the crazy lushie Tweedles.

:wave2: Have I told you again how eternally grateful I am that you gave me shout out that allowed me to score Anna & Elsa? My kids literally SQUEALED with excitement when I told them. Thank you again, a hundred fold! P.S- Almost at a month till we board. I. CAN. NOT. WAIT!! :hippie:

Oh my goodness - I didn't realise that you got a FP - that's wonderful news!
Keep your eyes peeled for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train FP news - hopefully we will know more tomorrow :-)

I saw your post on the FB thread... and will be doing so! That would just be the icing on the cupcake of a perfect day at Magic Kingdom!!!

I have a work friend who is at Disneyworld right now. And she could not get FP for Anna & Elsa and her kids adore them... so she was going to rope drop it and run straight back. Well, yesterday was that day... and she texted me to say she RAN from the rope to the Fairytale Hall... to find a 240 minute (FOUR HOURS!!!) wait. AT. ROPE. DROP!!!!! :scared1:

I am so ENTERNALLY GRATEFUL you gave that heads up!! Thank you, thank you THANK YOU.

OMG, I didn't even notice! You don't hate running anymore!!! I knew something was different. Well, I should share this with you, I found it a few days ago and thought of you but forgot to post it...

:rotfl:

I need to recreate that picture with my Pug. He sounds like he's dying of heart attack after as slow stroll around the block in 50 degree weather.

I have a King Charles. He is definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I love him.

So a bit late. I had an exhausting weekend & I'm on about hour 20 of a migraine.. so it's all I can kinda do to be here at my cubicle-

I knew ,due to weekend plans, I would get no running in, so I made my goal to do 4 runs of at least 3.1 miles in a row. (Tuesday-Friday).

Tuesday- 3.2 miles at 12:30 average pace
Wednesday- 3.2 miles at 12:30 average pace
Thursday- 3.25 miles at 11:45 average pace
Friday- 3.2 miles at 12:30 average pace

TOTAL MILES: 12.65.

I am happy with my results. I will fall behind this week due to losing today because of migraine. But oh well.

I am also introducting a day or two of biking into my routine because...

My best friend convinced me (shamed me) into signing up for THIS at the end of August:

Wow, that's small. That's a triatholon in case anyone can't read it. :)

My first! I'm doing the smaller version (they have different lengths much like running races) but I'm still terrified! It's out of my comfort zone but it will be good training. And I have my bestie next to me- so we'll go down together!

My other big news of the week.

Disney opened their Mine Ride (Finally) and I spent all day Friday fighting the MDE to get a FP+ for this ride. I finally managed after 6 hours of trying and so I am VERY excited to be riding this on June 7th!

My weekend was spent with 17 Girl Scouts at a camp. I am exhausted but we had an amazing time and the weather was great!

The hardest part of the entire weekend was not the 17 Girl Scouts- but rather I had NO CELL SERVICE FOR 2 DAYS!!! :crazy2:

Hope everyone has a great week!

I figured you had no cell service or were up to your ears in girlscouts when I sent you a tipsy selfie and got no response! :rotfl2:

look at that backtoback running! Shew! made me tired just looking at it. I did some last spring like that when I was doing a running streak and I felt almost like I was LESS sore than when I took a day in between break...but then I injured myself pushing it. I can't win. :rolleyes2

I hope your tweedlehead feels better asap! :worried:

Ugh, sorry about the migraine, but sounds like you have a fun weekend! How exciting for the tri. Good luck!

Both! I didn't get your tipsy selfie till I pulled into my driveway last night & by then I had a migraine and so didn't do jack squat with it. No wit in my brain when my brain hurts!!!

It was a fab selfie though- as always. Made better by the slush bus shirt. And wine holder.

Ugh, sorry about the migraine, but sounds like you have a fun weekend! How exciting for the tri. Good luck!

My friend keeps sending me texts about padded shorts and stupid swim caps...and I'm all like "what do you mean we don't dress up in costume for this race. What fun is that?"

Tweedle! Entertain me! It's been like 2 days with no snark and I'm feeling lost. :lmao:

Ok, really I'm just procrastinating cleaning and organizing my long ignored house. Today is the day I MUST clean and get things in order...and yet here I sit, hoping that you'll distract me. ;)

I have been soooo busy. You know when you have nine hundred things on your plate and then you go and do something stupid like VOLUNTEER FOR MORE!!!

Wanna guess what I did? I still can't believe it because I SO DO NOT HAVE TIME....

I went and volunteered to ORGANIZE AND HOST a 5K run next October in our community. W T F was I thinking? I was not even drunk when I freaking volunteered to do this. 500-1000 people.

Lordy- where is my wine glass holder filled with wine when I need it?

OMG that is SO awesome!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

I'm surprised you weren't drunk though. :rotfl2: I'm going to watch and learn...I have always wanted to organize one but I'm a chickenshlt. ;) I'm too afraid I would make a horrible race and then all the runners would hate me. :p

What will the theme be? If you call it Tweedles UNITE, I might have to come. :rotfl:

This coming October or the Following 2015?

I did it because I can't stand the current leadership of Girl Scouts and they keep organizing lame events. And they wonder why their membership numbers are down.....

So I pitched the idea for a Family 5K Run/Walk with a mile 'kid run' to not only promote Girl Scouts but doing something active as a family. Since 5K's and fun runs are huge right now.......

It's going to be superhero themed because I figure that way Dad's/boys would be into to.

I am pretty scared about undertaking this as I'm going fully monty (as in full force- NOT as in running/organizing this naked). Looking to see if I can get sponserships, I have the course map mapped out, will have DJ, best costume awards, food after, t-shirts & small medals. Trying to find a hosting site for registration that won't kill us with fees.....

And it's THIS year. Not next. THIS YEAR. Yup- I'm crazy.
