If no magic bands, then what?

Yes, but surely FastPass+ will be coming back eventually, once the crisis is controlled and most people are vaccinated.

I certainly hope so. If they wanted to, they could certainly integrate the magic bands with the mobile ordering too. Such as scanning your band for pickup instead of giving your order number. I personally prefer using the band over my phone for most things.

There's a lot they could have done but seem to be abandoning going that direction. Perhaps that will change around come 2022 or 2023.

I have a DVC stay booked through RCI coming up in March. I know that they no longer give out free Magic Bands, but I understand that I can buy a plain one for $5 as a DVC guest and pick it up when I check in. I also saw somewhere on the Disney main site that you can have your name printed on the inside of these bands, but I couldn't find any instructions on how to arrange that. Does anyone here have any information as to how to do this?

Unless things have changed, if your RCI reservation is linked into My Disney Experience, when you order your magicbands through that app, the name will be printed on the back of them automatically.

When you received the confirmation of your RCI exchange into DVC, it should have included the phone number for DVC Member Services. You need to call MS and identify yourself as an inbound RCI Exchange. The MS rep should be able to look up your exchange and provide you with the Disney Reservation number which can be linked to your My Disney Experience account.
