If my child was born at a military installation and I wanted to request a Birth

You would request the copy of the birth certificate from the State. I was born in a military hospital, and my birth certificate was issued by the state of Hawaii.

Might be the county also, depending on which state. My DH was born in a military hospital, and he had to write to the county records for a copy of his birth certificate.

Definitely contact the records dept. of the county the child was born in.

I actually just got an extra copy of the birth certificate of my son who was born on a military installation in California. We wrote to the county, though I believe in California you can get it from the state too if the birth wasn't too recent.

2 of my kids were born at Balboa Naval Hospital in San diego..I get there BC's from the county of San Diego

I don't think so..We went to get copies of BC's before we moved...Kids were born in San Diego county and we were able to get theirs. SO was born in LA county I think (torrance) and San Diego couldn't help us

My own is really complicated since I was born on a base in Germany. Luckily, we have one or at least we did...

Both my brother and I were born at base hospitals and we get our birth certificates through the state we were born in. Mine from Kentucky and my brother from DC. A friend was born on base in Japan and she gets hers through the State Department.
