is it tacky to contact two different resale agencies at the same time? Whichever one finds my dream contract first wins my business! Or do most of you just work with one resale company exclusively?

Thanks!

You need to call them all as every contract will not be able to be sold by all resale agents. It's not like buying a house. The resale agent may only have access to contracts that their company is currently selling unless they have an agreements with other agencies.

In my experience, they didn't call me. I had to be on the lookout for the contract I wanted and call them. I suppose it would be pretty hard to keep track of everyone's contract "wish lists" as there are many factors that may make one contract more or less desirable than another.

I would contact them and get on the email lists. When you see a contract come up that you like, you can call the company with it.

I have only dealt with the TSS and I believe this is the way they do it--send out an email daily (sometimes more than that) with all the new listings and then you respond.

I am not sure how other companies work but it is definitely okay to look for contracts with multiple resale brokers.

Good luck!

Why not? They are seller agents, not buyer agents (meaning they don't take requests and contact you when there is a match, you need to do the shopping). If you want to get the best deal, and get what you want the soonest use all the paths available to you.

Exactly...it is no different than any other Real Estate transaction.

I don't think it is tacky at all. As the buyer you need to find the right contract for your family. I actually can't believe how many people get worried that their guide will be upset with them if they buy a contract from The Timeshare Store, Inc.® I work for The Timeshare Store, Inc.® and if you told me Disney came through with some Beach Club points for you I would be happy for you as well. Of course, for all those people listing with us we do hope we can sell their property ASAP but we understand our listings might not match a buyers request.

Not tacky at all. In fact a lot of the different resale brokers work together. My last contract, I went though resale DVC but the the actually contract was with Shontel.

This is incorrect.

All of the major realtors who sell DVC are "transaction brokers," meaning they work for both sides to facilitate the transaction.
