DH just called me in to watch this video. Apparently it's fairly well known. A DEA agent was called in to give a "gun safety" talk to a bunch of school kids. Suffice to say I am POSITIVE these kids are terrified of guns now....and mayhaps the agent should look into a refresher course for himself.

Scary stuff. Thank GOD nobody else was injured. Just the DEA guy. But don't you love how he's trying to play it off like A) he didn't just shoot himself in the foot and then b) like it was supposed to happen and was part of the demo!

I was taking a 3-D sculpture class in college and our teacher's aide cut off 2 fingers while showing us how to use the table saw..it was like day 2 of the class. I was front row for the demo and it is seared in my brain..I still cannot use any type of electric saw.

Accidents can happen so fast...

When I took a concealed weapons course, they showed this video. The instructor told us the guy's first and biggest mistake was not making sure the gun was not loaded. He stressed that when someone hands you a weapon to make sure it is not loaded or that if there is no magazine/clip in the weapon to make sure that there is not anything in the chamber.

We had a really good instructor and it was stressed over and over through out the class to make sure when you hand a weapon to someone to have the gun locked open to show that the chamber is empty and that there is not a clip/magazine in the weapon.

Something along the line of him not being able to work under cover now due to being recognized. If I remember he even mentions getting made fun of in public by strangers.

I can't watch the video don't understand how this guy has a job, much less concerns about working undercover.

If someone who wasn't a law enforcement officer forgot and bought a loaded weapon into a school (I'm not talking about a police officer who intentionally carries a loaded weapon for use on the job, and is always aware of the fact that it's loaded, that doesn't seem to be the case here), and discharged that weapon in a room full of children, they'd be in jail.

And yet here we have someone who presumably has more knowledge of gun safety than the average person, and is a position of more responsibility, and they don't even get fired?

I like how he pulls out the shotgun and all the kids are yelling for them to put it down. He is yelling back "it's empty" Uh yeah, the 1st one was "empty" also.
