Well I finished my first week of the couch 2 5K this morning. I have to say it really wasn't THAT bad. The hardest part was losing a hour of sleep. I'm kinda exhausted now. I must work on getting off the DIS and going to bed earlier if this plan is going to work out. SPeaking of plans ... I have my Disney dates. We are going to be staying at The POP from Sept. 28 - Oct. 2 Just a quick trip but a trip none the less. Thank You Brook for being my TA extraordinaire.

WHEN on the 28th do you arrive? We leave after breakfast at Kona on the 29th, but I sure would like to hook up with you before we leave.
I haven't booked flights yet but I'm hoping to book the 10am flight. That would put us in Orlando around 12:45ish. We are renting a car so however long that takes. I technically NOT aloud to make any plansbut...I'm thinking the first day just hanging by the pool the hitting Hollywood Studios for Fantasmic that night. Believe it or not I have never seen Fantasmic and would love to see it. Hopefully the boys will agree. Not sure about Thurs AM. Could be a Magic Kingdom day. I'll let you know.
I hate to break it to you...but there is no Fantasmic on the night of the 28th. It is on Monday and Thursday of that week (the 26th and 29th).
HI again!!
Well, I just finished my Week 1 as well, and honestly, after not having run for almost a year, it really feels like I'm starting all over again. I am VERY discouraged at my pace, and my weight- but I am confident that both you and I will see big improvements over the coming weeks!! I am so excited that it worked out that we are sort of doing this at the same time. It will be good to draw encouragement from each other!
I was more tired too when I first started, but after a few weeks, it actually changed, and I had MORE energy; so hang in there, keep up the good work. YOU CAN DO IT!!
Dates are so good to have!! One more step in making the trip come true!
So... ummm.... I head there was a PTR going on over here....
Congrats on the running program! The beginning is the hardest!!! Once you get past the first few weeks you'll be loving it!![]()
For us for finishing week 1. My pace is awful and I'm not even going to talk about my weight. I had to laugh tho. When I went to renew my drivers license yesterday the only thing the guy asked me was if I still wore contact lenses. He didnt notice that my weight was about 20lbs lighter on my license then what I am now. Anyway he removed the eye restriction (i've had lasiks) but kept my weight the same.
I guess I wont have to change that once I do lose those baby pounds.
I actually do feel better but I'm one of those people who needs their sleep. 5 hours doesnt cut it for me. I keep telling myself only a few more weeks until school is out then I can sleep in a little.![]()
Congrats on starting the Couch to 5k and signing up for a race!!! I had a similar experience. I started the C25K last January and wasn't very consistent with it. Then I signed up for the Disney 1/2 Marathon (2011) and that really motivated me to get running! It certainly helps the motivation to have a deadline.
Only for Disney, right?
Amanda
My weight has only gone up since moving back, and ugh! It really slows me down- I can feel it for sure!
But hey, I am almost done with Week 2 now- only one more work out to go for that week!! YAYAYAYAYAYAY for us!!!!
I can totally function on very little sleep while at Disney, but in real life, I'm like you! I need 10 to be at my very best. But rarely get that! When school is going, I get about 7 or 8. Not enough.
Dawn,
Just stubbled upon your PTR and am subbing!I just did my own version of C25K. I just decided at the end of March that I need to get up and get moving.
Now I can run 3.1 miles in 40 minutes.
I am now working on my speed. I am signed up for my first 5k in June. My sisters and I are considering doing the Wine and Dine 5K too.
I am just not sure because I will be just coming back from our family Disney trip a month before that!
DH says "Go for it!" but I am not sure. Stick with the running. It quickly gets easier and more fun!
Looking forward to more.

I signed DS up. Guess I better start working on him with the pacing huh.Hooray for getting your ADR!!!!
My 7 year old would love to run with me but he, also, has no concept of pacing.
Amanda
Jack is on the fence of being a Disney fan? Eeeeeek!Hopefully this trip will win him over completely.
I was SO happy to see that ADR pop up!!! I agree-such a wonderful way to the end the trip. A fantastic breakfast in that beautiful park, you can say See Ya Real Soon! to the Castle.
Thank you so much for the shout-out too!!! It's been GREAT working with you!
Lots of planning going on but not alot of DIS time. I'll try to update tonight.![]()
Looking forward to an update. To answer your question on my thread, it would be Thursday, September 29, that we would be at the MK after our Kona breakfast and we would stay until around 2 or 3 p.m.
