If I'm in Florida, it's gonna be hot! This time last year.....

OMG----when IS this trip??? Is this the one where the esculator (how do you spell that??) ate the crocs??

After the early count down, we followed the herd and were dumped in Liberty Square. We didn't have a destination in mind, but Liberty Square was not where we wanted to be. So we just kept following the line of people into Fantasy Land and ended up nearly trampling a poor family. I felt so bad. They had a blanket laid out and the dad was leaning against the wall of Pinochio's; possibly had a child sleeping in his arms. I don't know how we ended up there, but we were trapped in by an ice cream cart and some sort of flat bed cart that was stuck. We couldn't move anywhere; it was wall to wall people; we couldn't back up, not left nor right, so we ended up crawling over the flat bed cart. I'm sure the CM was none to happy, but we had no choice. Whew! I was about to lose it!

So, we found ourselves amongst a sea of people, tired people, and we had no plan. That's right, I said NO PLAN! HA! Revoke my DISer card if you must, but I'm not giving it up without a fight. With limited options and strength, a divine spirit led us to Dumbo and the light was shining just right for us to see a wait time of 20 minutes. 20 MINUTES? We can handle 20 minutes! :yay: And to make it even better, we would be able to see the fireworks will we waited in line. :yay: :yay: As each cycle of riders exited, we were getting closer and closer to our holy grail. I kept checking the time and wondering when the last group would go and then they would close Dumbo during the countdown.....cause surely Dumbo couldn't fly during the fireworks, right?

At 11:55ish we reached the gates to the ride which has eluded us on every other trip we have ever made to the Muthaland. But not tonight, we were so close, but, but, as a billion thoughts ran through my head, what if they wouldn't let us on? What if someone tripped over a power cord and caused an outage? What if we weren't Dumbo worthy? Oh the humanity! But wait! What's happening? Why are we being escorted to our Royal Elephants? Do we get to view the fireworks in the elephants and ride afterwards? Wait! What's happening? Why is the ride starting? And now Mickey's voice? Am I dreaming? Is this burning an enternal flame? (You're welcome Tracy:thumbsup2 ) And now fireworks and numbers all around us as we spun in the air: 10, 9, 8, 7......3, 2, 1! Happy 2008! and more hoop-la! :dance3: pixiedust: party:

For those few minutes, there was no should to shoulder swarm of tired grumpy tourists, no meltdowns, no crying, no whining, no stress, no ADD, and no potty breaks! It was just my family and a few others spinning above Fanstasy Land in our own land....happy faces, tiny thumbs up in the air.....the last Dumbo ride of 2007 and the first of 2008. This truly is the place where dreams come true. A brief but very happy moment for the Loud Family that I wanted to hold on to as long as possible. :cloud9:

Even as our elephants safely returned to earth, the Loud Family was still floating and jumping and hopping and needing to use the bathroom.

Up Next: Potty Problems.

Is this the one where you rode Dumbo on New year's eve??:goodvibes

Im so glad your brought the funny back:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
How scary to losse DD but thankfully you found her quickly...and scored some good seats for Wishes:thumbsup2
It must have been great to be on Dumbo for the countdown and fireworks...very cool Slate
Cant wait for more.......popcorn::

Hey at least you made it over here!

Yes, our ride on Dumbo was WOW! :cloud9:

I was just sitting here thinking that oh yeah, it's NYE. What shall we have for supper? A super calorie fest? Pizza? Nachos? Then I start thinking what were we doing last NYE? Then oh fashizzle! I remembered that I have a TR or 2 still unfinished! :rolleyes1 So here I am, to finish something by midnight.....shall it be my plate of chips and salsa or this trip report? :confused3 I don't want to bring in the new year with too much accomplishments; might set a tone for the upcoming year; couldn't have that could we?

Nope...couldn't have that!;)

DS8 was so tired so I came up with a great idea. CANDY!! Now whose the Momma of the Year? Hand over the award; it's mine!

Ummm....Ok, I know I had it in January for the whole "the right side is the not-scary on side on TOT", but I'm sure SOMEONE had to have gotten it since then!!

C'mon girls...fess up...who's got it?!?

I thought she was going to tackle me, but to my surprise she stepped in front of the on coming herd and put out her hands to stop them. WOW This all happened in seconds really and just a matter of feet. No time to panic..yet. I was able to spot DD and the boys came up to join us. And when wishes started, the CM allowed us to remain semi in the open lane. We were able to sit on the ground and still see. She kept shooing the other people out of "our" lane. I mean we didn't just sit right down in the middle, we just cheated the line by about a foot.

OMG - how scary! Been there, done that...

And cool headed DH says, well I could see all of you the whole time. Hmmmph! I'm putting myself in a timeout.

Grrrrrr...my DH did the exact same freakin' thing. Watched both Michael and I (including me FREAKING OUT that I lost Michael) :headache:

 You scare me sometimes S'late!!

Everyone else said it, but it's the perfect word...

WOW:cloud9:

Again, details are fuzzy and not important, but somewhere in the MK we took yet another potty break. Our highs from Dumbo had faded and we were pretty much zombified. We entered what i thought would be a routine bathroom trip, me going quickly (goes back to frat house parties where the lines are so long you do you best to get in and get out before there's an accident in the hallway) while DD moves slower than slow. So, I'm pretty zoned out, mid stream (tmi) and I hear the blood curdling scream of all blood curdling screams coming from several stalls away. That scream belonging to my baby, tworse than that of her being stung in the forehead by a wasp. As any mom would do, I tore out of the stall, pulling up pants as I run.......was my child being abducted? Did she fall asleep and fall off the toilet and hit her head? What is wrong with my baby girl? :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Shall I leave you hanging?

WTH......OH NO YOU DONT!!!!!!!!

Luckily she had not locked her door.....

So, I swung open the door to find my precious daughter standing beside the toilet with her pants around her ankles and tears streaming down her face. She says with the most pitiful and award winning drama:

Pause for dramatic effect

Big, sigh; blows big snot bubbles: "Everytime I get the seat all lined with toilet paper, it flushes and takes away all my toilet paper."

I don't even know what smiley to insert. All I could do was shake my head, cry, laugh, and hug my daughter. That has got to be one of the funniest stories I will tell at her graduation, her wedding, and any other event deemed appropriate.

We made our way to the monorail as we had parked at Epcot. It was so cool to circle an empty Epcot....so calm and peaceful.

By the time our heads hit the pillows, it was around 3:00am, and no one thought to set the alarm.

The next morning, or should I say later that morning, we were awakened by DS8 standing at the foot of the bed. He was asking, "why is it so bright outside?" Oh snap! It was 10:40. We had 20 minutes to be out and the DVC does not give extra time. Any Big Comfy Couch fans here? Well, when my twins were babies, I learned to take a 3 minute shower; enough time that hopefully the house would not burn down while I did the basics. :thumbsup2 No makeup, no hair styling, and minimal drying, but clean. Somehow we made it out. I mean really, we had only spent like 2 hours there, how much could we have spread out?

Up next: Do we have to leave?

That sounds so awesome, Slate. To be riding Dumbo during the fireworks would be so cool!

And I'm glad that your DD was okay. Only a minor emergency! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Wow! I didn't realize this thing had a pulse! :lmao:

Yup, I had to read 5ish installments, but all HIGH-larious! You've still got it, S'late!

So glad you found Pippy right quick! 'Tis a scary mommy moment, isn't it?:guilty:

Oh and I totally got all verklempt at the Dumbo moment! What a sweet moment for the Loud Family!:cloud9:

Happy New Year, my friend! :flower3:

Is this really going to have an ending? It's almost a year old!:scared1:
