If I pay extra for it at POFQ or CSR will I get it for sure? What about WL and Swan/Dolphin? I really want a king for an adults-only weekend. What should I ask for in a room request?

TIA!

Yes, the moderates do have a bookable king bed room so you would be guaranteed of one there. I don't know if the Swan/Dolphin has a bookable king. For the deluxes, you'd have to book a honeymoon suite in order to ensure that the room had a king bed, otherwise it's nothing more than a request. Hopefully someone else can confirm this, but I believe all the DVC 1-bedroom units come with a king bed and as an added bonus, a jacuzzi bathtub.

Yes One bedroom DVC rooms have King bed rooms.

Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter are the most price effective for a King bed room. Plus these two resorts are beautiful. (one rolls into the other).

Good luck with your choice.

Thanks! I didn't know that I couldn't "book" the king room at WL or another deluxe. I think the 1-bedroom at a DVC resort is more than I want to pay for an adult getaway but maybe a code will come out! A queen bed would be *ok* but I'd like the king!

The only way to guarantee a king bed at a WDW resort is to book a moderate.

I have never understood why you can only confirm that category at WDW at a moderate. Pretty much every other hotel in the real world allows you to confirm a room with a king bed...

My husband and I were at the world for a week at CSR- It was wonderful. I liked the abiance. I would book the king at CSR.

Also pricey but with a guaranteed king bed are the Honeymoon Cottages at Boardwalk Inn. We love having a king bed and the jacuzzi tub, so we always book a one-bedroom DVC. We keep an eye out for public codes, AP rates, etc.

We do love CSR, but just stayed there in Sept, and booked the Bounceback special for Aug/Sept there also! I would kind of like to try somewhere new.

Thanks for the input! Looks like I can feel good about going "cheap" and trying to book POFQ so we can get the king-sized bed! :)

No one mentioned the Swan or Dolphin resorts - does anyone know if you can book king rooms there?

A few years ago we had a king booked at Port Orleans, but when we checked in there was no king available. We were stuck with two doubles.

POFQ will have 2 sinks instead of one, plus the hot tub is secluded compared to CSR. PO also has a carriage ride. PO is just more romantic IMHO.

We've had a king bed at the Contemporary before just by requesting it. It was
not "guaranteed" but we got it. Oooooooooooo, was that nice! ;)
