How would I get from the train station in orlando to where I would be renting a car, do they do it like the airport, or would I have to find a way myself? Thanks!

Cab company's are there or you can have Happy Limo meet you there or some other Limo Company! ;)

Thanks for the website beccasmom, does anyone think they have the taxi vans at the train station, we are a family of six. Also how much do you think it would cost to get to Disney? Thanks again.

Not sure about taxi vans, although taxi service is there at Orlando. I'm sure they could call one for you, though.

You might also want to get off at Kissimmee if you can. The Orlando station is close to downtown and depending upon the time there may be traffic.

So Hertz & ears both have shuttle services that will take you from the Kissimmee station to Disney? And I assume they go from Disney to the train station too? Anyone have an idea what it costs each way?

if you are renting the car from hertz, they shouldn't charge you for the shuttle ride between their office and the train station (not sure if they would pick up your entire group or just you and then you would have to drive back for them in the rented vehicle.)

also, when i looked at the mears website, they only mention transport between the airport and WDW (or other orlando attractions), not the train station. they may have this service, but as it is far less popular, you may have to call to confirm that they have it and get a cost.

We've been using Amtrak exclusively for the past 10 years and al;ways detrain in Kissimmee, closer to WDW, less people detraining. Cab fare from here is 35.00 to 38.00 plus tip. Yes, you can get a van taxi, if one is not there, they will call one for you. The train stops in Orlando first and most of the train gets off here and starts looking for ways to WDW, we stay till the next stop, 15 to 20 minutes more, and a handful of people get of. real easy to grab a cab, 20 minutes and we're at our resort.
