is there any reason I should clear it all off? I would have her clear anything personal, if any, but could I leave the songs and apps on there in case the buyer wants them? Will it work alright for them to connect to iTunes if we leave stuff on?

It's old enough it doesn't have a camera, so no photos to worry about.

I believe that when the new owner syncs the ipod touch with their iTunes account on their computer the Touch will be overwritten, the apps and music etc. Either way I'd do a reset on the device. They're buying the device, not the content on it.

I think that the previous poster is correct about it resetting when connected to iTunes.

Many of the new cars now have usb ports which the touch can plug into. The car keeps the touch charged up and you access the music from the car radio to select folders etc. I am waiting for my grandson's old touch so I can leave it hidden in the car but pluged in with the music we want. I don't know for sure this will work but the book says it will. Except for the 8 gb they seem to go for about $1 per gb (ie 80 gb $80, 160 gb, $160). The Wall Street Journal gave me the idea in the Apr 20-21,2013 paper.

Take care.

Edit: On the pricing I was thinking about the iPod Classic and not the Touch which have higher prices. Sorry for any confusion (mine).

RESET IT!

You're not doing the buyer any good by leaving the apps on it. Unless you want to give them your e-mail and other itunes account info iTunes will automatically delete the items the first time they connect the device to iTunes.

It only takes a couple of minute to reset it and is very simple to do then dis-associate it from your itunes account. Plus, some apps store your personal info so if you leave any apps on it they will have access to your/her e-mail address and wi-fi info and other info. A good hacker would be able to connect to your itunes account, especially since the history will be somewhere on the device as will all her contacts.

Just reset it to factory settings and it will erase all of your stuff off the ipod.

Yeah, you need to reset it or the next person can't use it with their own itunes account without needing to reset it themselves.
