If I say it out loud, will my wish come true.. PTR May 2011(Link to TR pg41)

None of our kids are old enough for Discovery Cover, but YIKES:scared1:, I didn't realize it was that pricey! I'll have to start saving now!! I'm glad the Dis helped you out--it always seems to come through for me.

Via Napoli looks so good. I have read some bad reviews though.People saying the crust wasn't cooked all the way, things like that. I can deal with it being ordinary but not gross. I know you can always send food back but then you have to spend more time in a restaurant. I am hoping it will turn out okay.

I would watch the 1st four movies if you could. They always have marathons on ABC family where they show them all.

Don't worry, when you get back from your trip I'll still have like another 3 years to wait until my trip.:sad2: At least you get to go back every year.
My trip isn't here yet and I am already bummed that it is almost over.

If I go to Via Napoli, I'll probably get chicken parm. Since that's what I get everywhere.

My friend at work has all the HP movies on DVD and she said I could borrow them if I want, so I guess I'll do that. I'm afraid I won't like them. Although, I was afraid I would hate LOTR too, and I could watch those movies over and over.

I actually don't think we're going back next year, and if we do, it will be a really quick weekend trip for our anniversary. And that's a long shot, if anything it will be a trip to California with a few Disneyland days, and that will have to tide me over until 2013. Because there's no way I'm not seeing the new Fantasyland.:thumbsup2

I always think about going to Discovery Cove to swim with the dolphins, but it's so expensive! I think I'd rather wait and go to Hawaii and do it there, like they did on Full House.

Awesome job on the savings!!!! I did not realize how pricey it was at Discovery Cove. I think we'll end up passing and do a "swim with the dolphins" when we do our cruise in 2013.

I would pass and swim with the dolphins on a cruise too. A girl at my work went on a cruise with her family and they did the dolphin swim at Atlantis. It cost $250 per person and the pictures looked like it would be amazing. Plus, you get to check out Atlantis.

3 kids will certainly run up a big bill. That's one reason to do it this year. We would love to have 2 more kids and that will way too expensive. I hope it's worth it. We'll see.

The chicken parm at Via Napoli looks very disappointing to me. I don't get that hard spaghetti they give you with it either:confused3

I'm sorry you're not going back next year. Yeah right! Disneyland would be nice. I would love to go there someday.

I wish I was a Tanner. They got to do all the cool stuff. I totally forgot about them swimming with the dolphins. Isn't that where they sang with the Beach Boys too?

Wow I didn't realize I was so far behind...darn job. :rotfl: i just added comments in purple. :goodvibes
Day 2 Sunday
Our first full day at Disney.
I have 3 days that are open for AK, US and IOA.
I was thinking of doing US/IOA on Sat. and Thurs., and then have Tues. left for AK.
Caitlin must sense that our trip is coming up soon b/c she has been very vocal in makes our Disney plans.
Here are her plans: Day 1- pools , Day 2- AK, Day 3 EPCOT, 4 MK, 5 US, 6 SWW, 7 US,8 SWW
Oh they are just full of demands and opinions at this age, aren't they? Aren't you going to catch the last weekend of the Flower & Garden show at Epcot??
The MK day and SWW days are already set so I can’t go in her order but I figure if AK is the park she wants to go to first I may as well plan my trip around a 6 year old.
IMG_0695.jpg

Assuming we go to AK this day I made a breakfast ADR at RFC for 8:30am. We had breakfast at Tusker house last year and I figured we could try something new. We have a RFC in CT but it is over an hour away and we have never been there. Caitlin is a huge animal lover so I think she’ll like eating here. I have been going back and forth between breakfast and lunch but I just don’t want to worry about stopping what we are doing to have to make it to a lunch ADR. I didn't know they had breakfast at RFC. That is also DD's fav place & we are doing lunch here on our AK day (which is Monday)
rfc.jpg

Here is Caitlin at Tusker house last year. I am pretty sure that doughnut is all that she ate. Being on the dxdp it didn’t seem to bad but paying OOP for her to eat a doughnut would really annoy me.
IMG_0716.jpg
sounds familiar!:rotfl:

Now, is it just me or does anyone else having a hard time pinning down what to do in AK? For all the other parks I can make some sort of plan of what to do but I always feel a bit lost in AK.
I do have a few must dos for our day since we missed them last trip.
#1- Festival of the Lion King
FestivalOfTheLionKing.jpg

LionKing-1.jpg

We have never seen it and I have heard it is very good. Caitlin has been watching the movie lately so it should be easy to convince her to see it.
I would also like to see the Nemo show, but if we can only fit in one it will be the Lion King.
FindingNemoTheMusical.jpg
.This is on my list of must do's too.

2. Safari- We went first thing in the morning and there were so many more animals than the other times I have been on it. Caitlin would probably ride this all day if we let her since she loves animals so much. We were looking at pictures and we saw some of her favorites Big Cats and she doesn’t remember any since they are so far away. She is looking forward to finding them this time.
imagesCAE8GO38.jpg

Much as I love the safari, I am not sure I can work it in again, I have a fairly long list of never dones here. I 've already told DH and DD that I am setting the pace this dayprincess:....(ok mostly DH, who would be happy to skip AK)
Hmmm, that is pretty much it for must dos. Sad, right? There are many things that I would like to do but if we don’t get the chance I won’t mind.

Kali Rapids- The line was way too long last year and the fast passes were gone by the time we got around to getting them. If you can get a FP or ashort wait, go for this. We got to do it in 2007 and it was great. I am bee lining it for KR FP on our entry to AK.
kali-river-ride-animaml-kingdom-orlando-1.jpg

Flights of Wonder- we haven’t seen it. Is it worth the time?I hope so, we'll be doing this one!
BFB201.jpg

Camp Minnie Mickey- I am sure Caitlin will be on a character hunt again so we will have to stop here.
BFC000-1.jpg

EE- Maybe this should be a must do. It is probably the best coaster that Caitlin was able to ride since she is still under 48”.
imagesCAW7X6M5.jpg

Am I missing anything big? We might try going out to Rafiki’s area if we have time. I like to just relax and go with the flow in AK. I think the scenery is so pretty and don’t really need to fill the day doing rides and shows, but don’t want to miss anything good.
Nemo is really awesome if you have time for it.

I would love to try either Yak and Yeti CS or Flame Tree for lunch. These were also my choices last year and we ended up at Pizzafari. It was disgusting so I refuse to go there again this year.
imagesCA2F7SGT.jpg

flametree.jpg

Knowing DH and DD we will probably end up at Restaurtosauras
imagesCA8OGV66.jpg

the only good thing about Restaurantosaurus is that at least the last time we were there they had a fixing bar, and you could almost make your own garden salad from the fixings.
There aren’t too many interesting snack choices that I have seen in AK.
lvi511624SMALL.jpg

This cupcake does look good though.
Last year I tried the jalapeño pretzel people mention and I wasn’t a big fan.
I'm so boring, I am very happy with the fresh fruit cups you can get in the AK kiosks. :upsidedow
Sorry about the pictures being different sizes. Photobucket keeps crashing on me.

Your plans look fun! I hope we see you around or on the busses!!

I was going to try to get my next day done but it has been a busy weekend around here.

Caitlin has been sick all weekend. I kept her home from school tday to make sure she is okay. Her temp. is gone and she looks better. Hopefully she'll be fine all day and can go back tomorrow. She still doesn't want to eat anything though since she is afraid of throwing up again. She has been throwing up the last 2 days but it is always around the time she takes her medicine. (Oh yeah, she cut her hand on Thurs in the swamp/woods near our house and I ended up taking her to the ER) I am allergic to the medicine she was prescribed so I am wondering if that was causing it or if it was a bug. I'm not going to give her the medicine today to see how it goes. She had a slight temp. Sat but that has been gone since Sunday morning.

In other news, Sat. marked the 8 week day until our trip. I decided for the next 8 weeks I will be doing Weight Watchers totally 100% committed and on plan. Eating all the veg/fruit, oils, dairy, and staying within my alotted calories. I have always done good when I actually do it the right way, the problem was staying on track. I figure 8 weeks will be doable and hopefully I can lose at least 10 lbs. I've lost about 6 in the last 2 months just from cutting out all the snacking I usually do and I gave up my Diet Coke:scared1: I used to drink like 1 liter of diet coke a day and switched to water or Crystal Light. I think the fact that I was sick most of Feb. helped give it up since I barely drank it when I was sick.

DH's birthday was yesterday. He turned the big 30. Guess what are plans were? Dinner from Wendy's:rotfl: He treats b-days as another day. We had to cancel those plans anyway since Caitlin wasn't feeling well. Crummy 30th B-day if you ask me.

I have so many places that I want to eat in EPCOT so I want to try at least one TS meal for dinner. We tried Le Cellier last trip and it was good but I want to try something new.

Maybe you have picked already -- of your pick we have only eaten at the Biergarten. We were a little nervous about getting seated with a wierdo but I have to tell you that we had the best conversation with a guy from NY who is aDVC holder....we even exchanged emails after dinner. DD LOVED the dancing and spent a lot of time doing the chicken dance, polka and whatever else they were doing. She found plenty to eat on the buffet, and we love german food so we this is on our agenda for Epcot.

The food at the Garden Grill was not that good? good to know because the menu is intriguing. We are also doing the ooo shoot the seafood place near Nemo

Wow I didn't realize I was so far behind...darn job. :rotfl: i just added comments in purple. :goodvibes

Fruit cup! After 8 weeks of strict WW I'm going for the cupcake! Although I have a sneaky feeling after all this healthy eating I won't be able to eat as much junk/ sweets as I planned:sick:

We are going to head to EPCOT the night we are which is Sat. I'm hoping to get there by 3 or so to check out the F & G festival.

We have to been to RFC. I wanted to do lunch or dinner but breakfast just fits in better. We are doing 'Ohana that night so I want to leave lots of room for that. I considered doing Boma on our AK day but I think I'll leave that for another day. I think Caitlin will love RFC. I have a feeling she is going to spend a good portion of her money in the gift shop.

I really want to see Nemo and Lion King. As long as I get those done I'll be happy:)

Ha, you just posted as I was. DH and DD picked Via Napoli. I don't recall ever having any German food. I do want to try Biergarten one day. I'll have to make a stop at the pretzel and beer stand to experience Germany this year.

/
Sorry Caitlin has not been feeling well. I've been reading more and more of people getting sick the last couple of weeks -- colds, flu, etc. I'm glad she is better and hope she is back at school tomorrow.

30? I can't remember when I was 30. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: We went to Steak & Shake for DH's birthday; we save the special dinners for Disney.

I'll be anxious to hear what you think of Via Napoli (we've got it booked for September).

:lmao::lmao:I have had your post open ALL DAY so that I can catch up with all your plans as I am working. :surfweb:

I am sorry to see your last post about Caitlin being sick. that is always as hard on Mom as the little ones.

Discovery cove looks awesome:thumbsup2..and I was just thinking how much does it cost when I saw your update on the cost. OUCH! If food is all included, why don't you eat dinner there before you go & save your TS meal for a different day?less OOP. just thinking out loud..i'm always trying to save some $$ here and there. :confused3

I have been watching what I eat (sometimes only as I am stuffing it in my face) for my whole life. As much as I like to splurge here and there on super terrific meals that are a whole day's calories by themselves, I find my little conscience chiming in and preventing me from making the truly indulgent choices that my tastebuds want me to make. Add to that my external voices (DH & DD) and it get even more difficult to go for the cupcake over the fruit cup. ok really, i am a cake snob and very rarely will choose a cake like dessert -- unless it is like a death by chocolate thing or a super moist lemony cake that is not smothered in two inches of icing (not an icing fan) I just don't think its worth the calories, and I will pretty much always pick ice cream or better yet a frozen adult laden beverage over cake. :drinking1

Did you get the DDP, so you have meals even for the days you don't have park passes? did you get park passes for everyday of your trip or only 5 to leave 3 days elsewhere?

We may see you at Epcot on Saturday night anyway-- I plan to do MK in the morning on Saturday & then Epcot on Sat night (I think!) after our dinner at 1900 (I am SO looking forward to that!)...or maybe in the pool after everything is shut down. I just love a little time in the hot tub to soak my feet!

One place you won't see me is T-Rex. i hate that place:headache: too noisy with unpleasant noises (monkeys and birds are so much more appealing to me than dinosaur roars and meteor showers!)

Hopefully I won't be a week behind again. tick tick ...can't wait!!!! 52 days, 7 hours, 13 minutes till we leave!!

I was hoping she'd be back today, but she wasn't fully recovered yet. She got to stay home with Daddy and they spent the whole day playing video games. She should be okay to go back tomorrow.

I bet if we had a Steak and Shake that's where we'd go too.

Via Napoli makes me nervous. I see some great reviews and some bad. I also just found out that the build your own isn't included on the dining plan, which I hadn't even thought about. I'll keep an eye on the reviews, hopefully I won't see too many bad one although they do seem to be poping up latey.

I am hoping Caitlin will be all better by tomorrow. She had another sick day today and since I called out last time she was sick DH had to call out. I only work a few days month and it always seems to be when I have to go to work she needs me to be home. I could have one day to go to work this month and it would have been the one day she had to stay home. :confused3

I haven't added the dining plan yet. We are doing a split stay so and since we are staying on DVC points we can split up the dining plans how we want. I know 100% that we will be doing the dxdp for the few nights we are at the BCV. We are doing a character meal and dinner each night so I know we'll save on those days. I haven't figured out about the rest of the days yet. Since we have 'Ohana and Via Napoli it makes sense but we'll see. I need to add it by 30 out.

We have 9 days we can hit parks altogether. I got 7 day park hoppers. That leaves our DC and one Universal day where we won't hit any Disney parks. I got the extra day just in case we can make it to DHS for Fantasmic on one of the Universal nights. I would love to make it over to DHS before SWW hits.

Switching T-rex to another night makes sense! I don't really know where I would put it now though. I don't need any encouragement to be changing my plans:laughing: I also got a $50 RFC card to use there from my Discover rewards so it's not really setting me back too much.

I really need to pay more attention to what I eat. I want to get Caitlin eating healthier and she has been doing better in the last few weeks since I have been switching out most of the junk food. I want to set a good example for her so she doesn't have to worry about it later in life.

Just stopping by to say hi. I haven't been around here much lately... Its funny how when you're planning an upcoming trip, you want to be on the boards all the time, and when you're not... well... I've a tough time getting into the Disney spirit lately, I suppose.

Sorry Caitlin's been sick. Its so frustrating and hard when they're sick and all you want to do is fix it, but you know you can't.

But eight weeks 'till you go..... :cool1::cool1:

I understand not being on the boards much when you aren't planning a trip. We aren't going back after this trip for awhile. Mostly likely 3 years, so I'll probably have a tough time getting though my trip report.

I just felt awful for Caitlin. Usually when she is sick she'll bounce back in a day or two. I couldn't believe she was out for almost 4 days. She seems back to normal now.

I can't wait!!:banana: It seems like March flew by so I am hoping April will be the same way.

Universal Studios
I am guessing Thursday will be our Universal Studios day. I am still debating on whether IOA should be on Sat or Tues. and I am thinking Tues might be better, but we’ll see. I have heard that Sat. is the busiest day at IOA since locals go there on Sat.

Boma might fit better on this morning or we’ll just grab something at the food court. We had breakfast at US last year and Caitlin ended up with a giant cookie since she didn’t like any of the choices. I would like to avoid that this time.

I don’t have much planned for US. I would really like to at least get in some things that we haven’t done and our favorites.

As long as we were able to see WWOHP already we will most likely head to US around park opening.

I would love to ride Hollywood Rip Tide Rocket, but I’m also a bit scared. I wouldn’t mind if I was able to go on with DH but I’m not sure I’ll do it by myself. I know DH wants to try it though. We should get this done early since the line was very long last time.
hollywood.jpg

We’ll head over to the Simpson ride next.
simpsons-ride.jpg

I would love to see some of the Simpson characters but there were none out when we were there. I have seen pictures on other TRs so I know they exist.

Next up- Men in Black
meninblack.gif

We have never been one it and Caitlin has seen the movies on TV so she might like it.

DH will want to see the Terminator 3d thing again. We have seen it every trip and he insists on going back. I’m not a big fan, but I have read that it will be closing soon and replaced with something else. I might well see it one more time.

Another ride closing I would like to catch is Jimmy Neutron
jimmyneutronnicktoonblast.gif

We rode it last year b/c Caitlin and I were waiting for DH who went somewhere and I thought it was really cute. I’m not sure if it will be open when we are there but we will go on if it is. I thought it was really cute, I don’t know why it is closing?

Shrek 4-d- Haven’t seen it yet, although we have seen all the movies. We will try to catch it if it isn’t a long wait.
shrek-4d-fireballs.jpg

ET- I don’t think I have ever done this. To tell you the truth I don’t know if I have ever seen the whole movie or not. I remember my sister watching it but I thought ET was kind of ugly and didn’t really have an interest. Caitlin hasn’t seen the movie so we might skip this. It is a US classic though.
etadventure.gif

There is also a pet show. Caitlin wanted to see it last year but it was showing at the same time as Terminator and we weren’t in US too long that day. She loves animals so I want to make sure we see it this time. It is also near the kids area and I am sure we will check those areas out.
animals.jpg

That’s pretty much it. Caitlin goes back and forth about wanting to ride the Jaws ride. Disaster, Mummy and Twister are possible fill ins.

We’ll probably have lunch at a cs location.
If we haven’t headed to Steak and Shake to use my gift card yet this would be the last night to use it.
IMG_1439.jpg

I think you should do IOA on Tuesday, should be less crowded and you may see some familiar Canadian muggles wandering around. ;)

I really know nothing about US, but you make it look really fun! I can't wait til my kids are older and want to try it, but that might be a while.
Steak 'n' Shake...mmmm...I used to work there and I STILL love it!

Another good reason to pick Tuesday. I think Tuesday makes more sense since Sat. wlll most likey be busier.

Maybe we'll see each other while waiting to get in since I am sure we will all be there as early as possible.

Universal is pretty fun. We all enjoyed it last year, but I do have to admit I will enjoy it much more when Caitlin just older and meets all the height requirements. Listening to her whine about not being able to ride the coasters was annoying after awhile. They do have some pretty cute kids areas though and Caitlin loved all the rides she could go on.

Your daughter is absolutely adorable! I love the pictures of her with Cinderella, and the one of her with Eeyore at CP. Your plans sound really good, I cannot wait to hear more about it! That's cool that you'll get to catch the tail end of F&G festival, I'm sad I'll be missing it by a few days :(

We've not been to the Studios since 2004 (we just aren't into the thrill roller coasters anymore), but we LOVE Men and Black and ET will hold a special place in our hearts. You'll have a great time.

:rolleyes1 Isn't it funny how kids seem to pick up on when is the WORST time to get sick?

I also just realized last night that Monday & THursday are the only Fantasmic! nights that weekpixiedust:pixiedust:

:thumbsup2 Yeah for free food!

Yeah we have been realizing that Katie has been leaning heavy on the junk (not that we have a lot of it) so we are trying to get her to eat more fruits &veggies. She loves them, we just have to remind her

some of these rides do looki like fun. We would have done a US day if there were another roller coaster extremist for DH...I like them but only if I want to repeat the bad way everything I'd eaten that day:sick:

We rode it last year b/c Caitlin and I were waiting for DH who went somewhere and I thought it was really cute. I’m not sure if it will be open when we are there but we will go on if it is. I thought it was really cute, I don’t know why it is closing?

Shrek 4-d- Haven’t seen it yet, although we have seen all the movies. We will try to catch it if it isn’t a long wait.

There is also a pet show. Caitlin wanted to see it last year but it was showing at the same time as Terminator and we weren’t in US too long that day. She loves animals so I want to make sure we see it this time. It is also near the kids area and I am sure we will check those areas out.

ooh Katie would love an anial attraction anywhere:dog::dog2:
That’s pretty much it. Caitlin goes back and forth about wanting to ride the Jaws ride. Disaster, Mummy and Twister are possible fill ins.

We’ll probably have lunch at a cs location.
If we haven’t headed to Steak and Shake to use my gift card yet this would be the last night to use it.

Your plans look like such fun! BTW I have been looking for a DISMEEET & along with a few others looks like there will be one on 5/15 at 1 pm in the UK at Epcot. I think that's your AK day but thought I'd tell you just in case!

All your plans look good, but the last I heard is Rip Ride Rocket was closed indefinedly. It was closed when we went in late January. Something about the safety of it, it does feel like on the way up that you're gonna slide out of your chair!! I didn't like that feeling, and haven't been on it since! Love the Mummy, Twister was just eh. Simpsons beats the crap out of you, it's VERY bumpy, and MIB is a favorite of ours. I think I'm gonna go over on May 13th to IOA with Tyler's 6th grade class as a chaperone, I just love the new HP area of that park!!
