I have to say that I been very happy that Caitlin has never really been into American Girl dolls and stuff like that. I saw the post on the budget board about AG dolls on Black Friday and I thought to myself "I am glad I don't have to worry about that"

So....we are sitting around and Caitlin says to me "Mom,can I have an Americal Girl doll for x-mas" Ugh!!!! She couldn't mention this a few days ago when they were on sale. I just checked the website and the dolls are like $100 and then an outfit is like $30. Of course then you'll need the bed one day and all the other stuff. I was thinking maybe just get her the doll but I am wondering if that will just open a whole new cans of worms with her. She seems to want the doll b/c some girls in her class have them. I wouldn't mind getting her one if she used it but I just don't know.

I was hoping to have a small x-mas this year since I'm putting all my money towards Disney and if I get the doll and an outfit a big chunk of her x-mas budget is gone. Maybe a few other things. She is getting other stuff from Grandma so she'll have enough.

Haha, she was telling us the other day she wanted one of those dolls, asking Grandma for one, and she said no. So I thought about it, I was thinking maybe I'd get her one and that's it for Christmas presents from me and Uncle Brandon (haha sounds funny!)...so I asked her what she would do with one if she got it and she said "I don't know". So I said "so you just want one so you could look at it and not play with it" and she just laughed...then I said "it sounds like it's going to end up being another toy for the dogs"...again, just laughed. So I'm not spending $100 so your dogs can have a new toy to chew up!

I did get her a stuffed Lotso...we were watching Toy Story and I mentioned how I wanted to get one when I was at the Disney Store the other day and she said she did too. Then she begged me to take her to the Disney Store and I told her I would, but it would have to be a week night, since that mall is crazy on the weekends!

I am sure boys can rack up the $$$ pretty quickly too. Game console, games, bikes.... I was just thinking maube clothes would be cheaper since it is hard to say no to some of the cute girl clothes out there, but if we ever have a boy he will probably destroy clothing much faster than Caitlin.

I was thinking about taking her to the Disneystore when she has a half day or something but I have to work 4-12 all the days she has a half day. If you do go can you see if they have the Tangled art set. It is sold out on Disneystore.com and she really wanted that.

Yea, I don't think Caitlin will ever call Brandon Uncle Brandon. Grandma asked her if Brandon ever talks to her and she said no, he never talks to her.

Does she have any other half days coming up? I know she has one today but I won't be home til 4:30. If she has one on a Tuesday or Thursday that would be good because I can probably get out of work around 2:30 one of those days. If not I'll find another time to take her.

Kassidy started her AG obsession a month or two ago. Now, every time the commercial comes on tv, she cries, literally cries, she wants one so bad. I hate to spend that kind of money on a doll, but it's the only thing that she has made abundantly plain that she absolutely wants.

Aw! If Caitlin really seemed like she wanted one I would probably get her one. I think she just wants one b/c some of her friends have them. She may end up getting one though b/c I keep putting off my x-mas shopping and everything she wants seems to be unavaible. I am just not in a shopping mood lately.

Anyway, it's been awhile since I've seen you around. How's the trip planning going? Is it just me or is May way too far away?

Unless, that is, I look at the calendar at work and count the number of pay periods in between now and when my balance is due, and then I start to panic that it isn't enough time, LOL. Life is hard when you only work on call, I am plotting to take out full time people's knees as we speak. (Just kidding. Kind of....) If I have to stand out by the side of the road with a sign that says "Beach Club or Bust" in order to get us there, I will.

I actually had to take up reading non-Disney books in order to pass the time, LOL. Unheard of, I know. But I found a FANTASTIC series that I am completely addicted to, so it's all good!

It is really tough trying to pay for this trip working per diem. I am very happy this month since many full timers took days off this month so I have a lot of hours this month. I was planning on getting my plane tickets this month but I have a felling Jan. is going to be a tough month for picking up hours so I'm going to wait and see.

I've taken a step back from planning which is why I haven't posted anything interesting lately. I think I have my adr's all set but we'll see.

I can't wait until May is here and I get to just chill out at SAB for the whole weekend. I am not planning anything that weekend. I know Caitlin will want to spend the mornings at DHS for SWW, but otherwise the days will be pretty wide open for relaxation.

Caitilin went over her friends on Thurs and came home with Littlest Pest Shop animals. I guess they are a little different than the other ones. I asked her if she wanted zoobles or LPS for x-mas. LPS of course. I was going to exchange what I got her but I give up. She is getting whatever she got and she can exchange anything she doesn't want. I am thinking of getting her a set of LPS animals though since that is the one thing she plays with when she comes upstairs.

Nothing new to report. I was going to try to get my plane tickets this weekend but I am going to hold off for a bit.

John and I were talking about the new scanning machines at the airport and was saying we should push our trip back b/c he isn't sure about the new tech. and he wants to let them work out the kinks. Um, yeah I'll cancel the trip right now.

Of course all this canceling the trip talk made me have some awful dream about not getting to take our trip. I forget what the reason was but it wasn't a very good one. I'm guessing vacation insurance doesn't give you any money b/c your husband doesn't want to go through the airport scanner.


I have been so busy working this month and was really looking foward to gettting stuff done today but Caitlin is home sick today. She had a 103 fever yesterday. It went up and down all day yesterday.

So sorry Caitlin is not feeling well! We have had all sorts of illnesses running through our household lately! I just hope all are well in time for Christmas!

We were going to fly for our trip in May until all of the pat downs and scanner info came out and my mom nixed that idea ASAP so we will be driving. It is only 11 hours and we can do that in one day easy though. I feel for the dreaming though! I am always dreaming that somehow, someway my trip is delayed, cancelled or messed up entirely!

I, personally, thought the food was gross (didn't like the salad dressing, I don't eat cornbread, the corn was gross, the beans were burned). I didn't eat any of the meat, but my DH did--he ate the chicken and ribs and was sick the rest of the night and next morning -- ribs were nothing but grizzly fat and just looking at the chicken you could tell it was undercooked. We could have just hit a bad night, but we won't go back.

I am glad she got this over with before x-mas. I always seem to be sick on every holiday and it stinks!

When DH first said maybe we shouldn't fly so soon, I asked what do you want to do drive? Then, he said maybe when should just not go

It is about a 24 hr for us. My family did it 3 times when I was a kid since my mom didn't like to fly. The ride down isn't so bad but the drive home is torture. Plus, we drive to Rhode Island a few times over the summer and that was like an hour and a half and Caitlin whined the whole time.

We'll see how the scanners are doing in 5 months. I'd rather get the awful patdown than a bunch of radiation since as radiographer I'm exposed to radiation everyday.

Caitlin is doing much better today. Her fever is almost gone so hopefully she'll be back to normal tomorrow. Thankfully, when she gets sick she bounces back in a day or two. On the other hand when I get sick it takes me forever to get better.

I feel bad about not booking WCC for lunch or dinner since we are staying at the hotel, but the skillet just doesn't appeal to me very much. I don't like beans or coleslaw and after hearing about the ribs and chicken it doesn't seem worth it. I think we will try breakfast. They can't mess up Mickey waffles, can they?

We read a report at the hospital the other day that said that the TSA is reporting that the radiation it is outputting is like the equlivalent of 1/270th x-ray or something, a tiny amount of mili-rems, but I don't know how that is possible if they are doing your whole body? I wonder if they are giving the TSA officials who sit next to the thing and scan thousands of people a day lead? Or if they are asking women if they are pregnant before they go through. Hmmmmmm??? All those RADS add up.

I'll admit the scanners scare me a little so I looked up some info about them. They claim that pregnant women are safe using them which surprised me. But they said that you receive more radiation flying on an airplane than going through the scanners. It's not so much the amount that scares me, more that they are so new and do they actually know if the amounts they claim are right. Who knows?

I was thinking about telling Caitlin on x-mas but she wouldn't be excited like the kids on the commercials. I wish she would do one of those freak out, screaming moments but I have a feeling I wouldn't get that reaction.

I am so glad that I do not have to deal with airports this time around. I know I will regret saying that after the first few hours in a van with 4 kids, but being able to go at our pace and not deal with scanners, and tons of people and feeling rushed. Ahhhh makes me breath a sigh of relief, and then I think about my almost 3 yr old and just pray she will outgrow her car sickness issues in the next 2 months.
