LTT was probably my favorite of the new restaurants I tried this trip, the pot roast is SO good, and so is the toffee cake! :thumbsup2

What's Sunshine rewards?

LTT is one of the places I am most looking foward to. I made a chart and highlighted the ones I can't miss in red and the ones I don't mind missing in green in case since I know John will whine.

I knew you would ask this. It is a rewards site. I use it mostly when I shop online. I don't know if you have a discovercard or not but it works the same way as the cashback bonus with shopping links.

First, you sign up with the site. There is a huge list of participating stores online. Whenever you buy something online go to sunshine rewards and see if that store is on there. I think Old navy is. So, you look for Old navy, click on the link and shop like regular. Then, a certain percent goes into your sunshine rewards account which you can use towards Disney gift cards or just have the money sent to your paypal account. Most places have 1-5% cashback but some have higher. I bought running sneakers at shoebuy.com and they had 10% back. The sneakers were $60 so I got $6 in my sr account.
They also have 6 surveys you can take and get credits. Most are like .50 cents, one is .80. I usually do 1 a day but they can be annoying since they can take awhile. I usually do one while I check my e-mail and have my coffee in the morning. If you sign up, let me know so I can send you the referral link.

You might know this. I want to go to DHS one night in the beginning of the trip to see Fantasmic so I want to eat somewhere by the Boardwalk hotel. Maybe Big River Grille. If I drive to DHS and park how do I get to the Boardwalk. I know there are boats and a path but are those at the front entrance of DHS or somewhere behind it like EPCOTs international gateway to the BC?

:rolleyes1

I have a confession. I made a little change in my resort plans last week.
I happen to be a very impatient person. Waiting to see if Disney is going to release a discount for my dates in May has been driving me crazy. I happened to find myself playing with the numbers for just renting points for the rest of my days instead of staying at Pop. Hello, it is just a little bit more! I figured what the heck and took the plunge. Instead of Pop we will now be staying at

The Villas at Wilderness Lodge

BWV was my top choice but it wasn't available.

Of course now this throws my adrs in complete chaos. I always said I would try WCC and HDDR when I stayed at WL. Now what? Do I add those in or just stick to the originals? It would be so easy to just take the boar over to FW.

We check in on Sat. I was original just going to change it so we fly down on Sat instead of Fri night but once Discovery Cove got added I don't want to lose Sat morning at EPCOT.

We will just stay somewhere overnight that Friday since we wouldn't get there until 930ish. Should I just stick with Pop so I can see it or stick to somewhere cheap oversight? I am afraid if I keep Pop I'll be sad we're not staying there. Maybe do the All Stars for 1 night?

just caught up! i would stay at pop since it's almost as cheap as some regular hotels. we're trying WCC next time, looks fun and yummy! In another note...don't stress about the adr's! step back and take a deep breath. :) make a list of the places you've enjoyed and want to try. eliminate from there. :thumbsup2

I really wanted to just have my ADRs done, but you're right. I need to just leave them alone for awhile and come back to them. I am thinking of just leaving them how they were before I switched to WL. I can always do HDDR some other time. I think DH and Caitlin would rather spend 2 hours at the pool anyway.

I am nervous that if I wake up at Pop I will want to stay there or Caitlin won't want to change. At least WL has a slide. Maybe that will help.

Don't be nervous. Pop is cute and great as a value resort but it is not as good as a deluxe. It can get a bit crowded and pools are a bit boring. you will like WL just as much or more :)

I really don't think you will want to stay at Pop when you can be at the Wilderness Lodge, it's still my favorite place that I've stayed yet, even more than the Beach Club! Are you renting points from the same person that you rented from for the Beach Club villas? I'm considering doing that for our next trip, but it makes me nervous!

WCC is good, but if you go, go for dinner, the lunch menu is kind of pathetic! They have pot roast for dinner! :cool1:

The more I look at it the more excited I get. I also love that I can just take the boat over to MK if John and Caitlin feel like staying behind to swim or something.

I ended up using a different person. The first guy is really nice but I felt bad for asking to switch Feb. to May, and then I changed my mind about 100 times when he asked what place I preferred so I didn't want to bother him again. Plus I figured with 2 different people at least 1 should work out. The second one I got a bunch of recommendations for so I'll show you on Thanksgiving.

I haven't stayed at the VWL, but it looks GEORGOUS!!! I'd LOVE to stay there!!! WCC is awesome for dinner, and breakfast, had the skillet both times. Had 5 mickey waffles when we had breakfast there in October!!! I was STUFFED!!! It was fun, and we had a waitress that was just phenomenal all around. Her name was MT, I'm gonna request her in may if she's still there!!! I had her sign my leg braces she was so awesome. The thing that made her awesome, was she picked on the teenagers, and we laughed like crazy!! They were good sports about it, and my step daughter played along and joined the birthday parade. Food is good....just all around good experience!!!

Pop is great if you plan on being at the parks and what not most of the time. We are literally at the hotel from about midnight til 7am and that's it. So no big deal for us, however hubby and I have talked about if we were to go without kids again in the future we'd like to somehow try to afford to do a deluxe at least a few nights, but chances of us ever going without kids, is well next to none.

I think we're going to try WCC for breakfast. The dinner menu just doesn't look that appealing to me. I would like to try the smores cheesecake though. Would it be wrong to order room service just so I can get the cheesecake?

I am going to try to have some down time this trip. I think that being at WL and BC will help us relax a little. Plus it will be nice being able to take the boat MK or walk to EPCOT from BC instead of driving all over the place.

I hear you about not being able to go back without kids. We went twice before together before we had Caitlin, but now DH is like "Why would we go without Caitlin?" Why did we go before we had her?

Congrats on changing your resort. Personally, we ate dinner at the WCC and it is one of two Disney restaurants you could NOT pay us to eat at again. We've not done breakfast but it is kind of hard to ruin breakfast food (but the skillet at dinner --:sick::sick:).

Have a great Thanksgiving!

I was thinking of giving the dinner a shot but I don't really eat most of the stuff on the menu. I would eat the skillet stuff if I had to but I would rather have pizza or some fried shrimp so I'm just going to stick to breakfast. I am hoping they can't mess up breakfast.

Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving too!

wow really, what was wrong with the skillet? we're planning on going to WCC next time and i wanted to get that

DH is was convinced if I stayed off the boards I wouldn't bother him about Disney so much. I didn't really notice a difference in my Disney questions that I asked him, but he said he did:confused3

I agree about taking the kids to Disney when they are young. DH wants to go to places like Hawaii and Atlantis which look nice but I would rather wait until Caitlin will appreciate it. He did agree on Virginia at some point. He can have Virginia beach and I can have Busch Gardens.

Don't even get me started on picking ADRs!

I am back from a brief hiatus due to a short vacation trip over Thanksgiving. Glad to see I haven't missed too much! :) We were watching a football game a few weeks ago and it was in Orlando. I made the simple, innocent comment that if we had gone to the game we could have spent the evening at Mickey's Christmas Party. DH said if I promised to stop talking about Disney, to plan a trip and he would go. Okay...lips are sealed! Well I was already planning but now he is going too. But that means DIS is my outlet now! ;)

Have you been to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg? It is so much fun!! Not Disney but it is defintely a pretty great amusement park! We love Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and the boardwalk at Virginia Beach!

Your ADRs sound good and I am glad to know I am not alone in the undecisive area! And the Villas at WL...yay!!:cool1:

Not sure what exactly Kathy didn't like, but I have seen her post many times that she didn't like the skillet. Fatty maybe?

If we went to dinner I would still try it. I see many people who enjoy it, so you never know.:)

We went to the Busch Gardens in Williamsburg a few times when I was a kid. I haven't been since 2000? maybe. I remember having a blast there when I was a kid. I want to wait until Caitlin is tall enough to ride the coasters before we go. Maybe a year or two. We will most likely head over to the beach too.

Yay! Another Disney trip. Can't wait to hear all about your planning.

I have to say that I been very happy that Caitlin has never really been into American Girl dolls and stuff like that. I saw the post on the budget board about AG dolls on Black Friday and I thought to myself "I am glad I don't have to worry about that"

So....we are sitting around and Caitlin says to me "Mom,can I have an Americal Girl doll for x-mas" Ugh!!!! She couldn't mention this a few days ago when they were on sale. I just checked the website and the dolls are like $100 and then an outfit is like $30. Of course then you'll need the bed one day and all the other stuff. I was thinking maybe just get her the doll but I am wondering if that will just open a whole new cans of worms with her. She seems to want the doll b/c some girls in her class have them. I wouldn't mind getting her one if she used it but I just don't know.

Anyone?

I was hoping to have a small x-mas this year since I'm putting all my money towards Disney and if I get the doll and an outfit a big chunk of her x-mas budget is gone. Maybe a few other things. She is getting other stuff from Grandma so she'll have enough.

when me and my sister were littel we each had an american girl doll. for the longest time we didnt have the extra stuff and we loved playing with it anyways. my mom found hand made doll outfits at garage sales and such but now i assume you can find them online. we eventually did get the bed but hardly used it i remember :confused3 i had a lot fun with the desk and the accessories it came with though

Ahhh American Girl Dolls. I am too cheap, or spend contious should I say. My sister inlaw bought one for my daughter 3 years ago, so when she was 8, she still dresses it up and she's 11. My mother inlaw is also extremely gifted, and makes the clothes and does a FANTASTIC job. So if anyone is ever interested let me know :) She made my daughter a beautiful kimono out of chinese silk, pajamas both 2pc sets and nighties, a few formal dresses, a wedding dress, a rain coat and boots, and a few other things.

Caitlin hasn't mentioned it since I told her no the first time. Hopefully she'll forget about it. I wouldn't mind if she would play with it but she's not that big on dolls. We'll see.
