If I purchase an AP, will they send me a 40% code?

You don't need to OWN an AP before you can get an AP code rate.
You can buy the AP after (even when you get to WDW) and present it at the resort desk.

Go to the WDW RESORTS Forum (HERE) on the DIS and look for the Codes & Rates Sub-Forum (HERE.)

You must rebook a new ressie to get an AP discounted room.

(Book the new one before you cancel any existing ressie, just in case.)

thank you so much.:flower3:

As usual, Robo is completely right, but as to receiving an individual pin offer vs rates released to all AP holders, there's no guarantee of that. Several APs have reported recently receiving a pin offer, but I'm an AP and haven't.

I have purchased an annual pass several times in the past and NEVER received an "individual pin" offer, even though I have stayed six consecitive time at the French Quarter, in the past five years.

But I have always purchased my annual passes at the local AAA office, while making my resort reservation myself by phone. I'm wondering if that has anything to do with my not receiving any offer? Perhaps it is a disadvantage to use AAA for buying an annual pass?

Doubt that.

I've never gotten an offer and I have always bought my AP directly from Disney.

Besides, AAA is (basically) selling you an AP "for" Disney.
Disney must activate the AP (and have all of your ID info in their computer) for the AP to be valid.

I was generally under the impression that pin codes were independent of AP discounts. It perhaps is more likely that you get pin codes if you also have an AP.

For the SWW trip we just had, when I called to book it room only, I asked if I had a discount code. I have never, ever been told I have one, so I said as much, but that I was a DVC, AP, and Disney Visa holder, so if anything would apply, I was all for it. He looked, and came up with a 40% pin code valid for the days of the trip.

He also tried to apply the same code to the other trip I also had booked (had a couple of weekend days booked at POR), but it wouldn't apply because it was blacked out for some reason.

There have been posts on the Codes and Rates board about 40% off pin offers received in the last few days specifically referencing their AP status. I didn't receive one so I can't speak to the exact wording. I suspect this might be what prompted the OP's question.

You DO NOT have to be an AP holder to get one. I do live in Florida but do not have an AP. Rcvd. pin code for 40% off last week via email.

I have been an AP holder since 2006 and this is the first time I received a PIN. Always heard about it, but never got one. I guess with the economy down, they will give out more PIN's
