How will that work? Will the 3 day hoppers need to be used 3 days in a row? Or can we go into the park 10 days and hop on any 3 days?

You'll have to have the tickets prioritized at Guest Relations whenever you want to switch which ticket you want to use.

But, you're wasting money. A single 10-day park hopper ticket would be much less expensive.

I was going to buy the 10 day pass (not sure on hopper or non hopper) but someone may be able to give me 3 day hoppers, so I was thinking I'd save some money and get the additional days as non hoppers.

If someone gives you the 3-day tickets, just UPGRADE them to 10-day.
You will be saving $$$.

(There are other options, too, that can save you a lot compared to using two separate multi-day tickets during the same trip.)

You pay the hopper fee once per ticket - it is a fixed price and doesn't change no matter if you have 1 day or 10 day tickets. So if you had 3 day hoppers...just add the extra 7 days! (Assuming they are an up-gradable ticket)

That used to be the case, but it varies a bit now by certain number of days.**

However, the principle still applies.
It will be far less expensive to upgrade a 3-day hopper to 10-day... than to buy an additional stand-alone 7-day ticket.

**There are now different (lesser) prices for adding the Hopper to shorter tickets.

Add Hopper option to:
MK 1-day: $50
EP, HS, AK 1-day: $58

2-day: $50
3-day: $50
4-day thru 10-day: $64

SPECIAL NOTE:
If you already have the Water Parks Fun and More option on your tickets,
adding the Hopper is a one-time, one-price fee of just $26 per ticket.

All prices, plus tax.

Upgrading a 3-day hopper to a 10-day hopper will cost you $124+tax. A separate 7 day ticket will cost $370.

But since you couldn't upgrade those 3 day tickets to 10 days until you arrive, you could only prebook FPs for the first 3 days of your trip.

IMHO, FP+ reservations are not worth $250 per ticket. Book absolute must do's for the first three days, upgrade the tickets after first use, then book the rest of the week.

Awesome! Thank you all for helping me think it out. It would be nice to get FP scheduled, but it really is not the extra cost! I won't have the 3 day passes til about 2 weeks before we go, but I do think it's worth saving almost $1,000 to not worry about those FP! Thanks all, I appreciate it.

I found out more info...they are actually 12 one day comp PH (there are 4 of us, so 3 days) I've done a little reading and it seems those can not be upgraded. Correct? So if/when I get these three PH tickets, can I link them in MDE? And then should I just go ahead now and buy the 7 day passes and can upgrade those to 10 day if these other 12 tix don't come through?

No upgrades allowed.
It might be cheaper to give 10 of those free tickets to one person to use.
And, 2 to another guest and buy an 8-day, too.

Then, buy everyone else 10-day tickets.

Do the math using various combinations and see.

No upgrades are allowed on the comps. So buy the 7 days and then upgrade those to a 10 day if the passes don't come through.

Also with the passes they can be linked but just know you can only park hop on a day you use the pass so as much as FP+ is great if you are going to buy the 7 days before your window I would just do the 3 days as same day fp and not link them. That way you can go pick up the actually ticket from each comp ticket print out and then just enter and use those cards for same day FP with out linking it to a MDE. That will make sure you only use the park hopper days on days you actually want to hop.

You are awesome - thanks! Just did the quick math with your suggestion and if I'm doing it right, I think i'd save almost $400 your way. I don't think I would have come up with that on my own :) Thank you!

Just upgrade the 3 day hoppers to 10 day non-hopppers.
