If I go to bed at midnight each night on the cruise and wake up at 7:00 in the morning will I miss anything? I am trying to figure out what time to set the alarm clock each night. How many hours of sleep does everyone function on while on the cruise???:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I am not a morning person at all, but when I am on the cruise I do not need an alarm clock. I am one of the first ones out on the deck. Mornings and sunrises are so beautiful and peaceful. I also go to bed late. I'll sleep when I get home.

I went back to the room to put the kids down and I fell asleep with them EVERY night. We headed back after the show and we were all exhausted from a GREAT day. They were 2 1/2 and 5.

This time, I promise myself I'll be able to stay awake to see the nighttime activites. They will be older and ready to go to the kids club after the shows. Maybe I'll be able to stay awake until 11:00 or so. :D

Yes, you will probably miss some sleep...

I am not typically an early riser, but on the cruise I definitely stay up late and try to drag my carcass out of bed as early as possible (although sometimes sleeping in wins on Nassau day, which is fine because we don't disembark there...I'd rather get up early on Castaway Cay day, and of course I HAVE to on disembarkation day - ugh!). When we used to fly out the morning of the cruise, we started the trip sleep deprived. It works out so much better to fly in the night before and get a good night's sleep. That way you're starting with a full "sleep bank."
To wake us up and entice us to stay away, we usually pre-order breakfast from room service the night before. Also, when we are in 5650, I usually wake up when we are docking because you can hear the side thrusters back there. It's a great wake up call because I always think, "Yay! We're here!" Then I have to decide whether to stay awake or roll over for some more shut-eye.
