If I change my cheaper resort to a more expensive resort will I have to pay the difference in the one night stay? Since room only makes you pay one night stay I'm wondering if I'll run into a problem if I switch to a pricier hotel.

Yeah, it will charge you whatever the extra is when you save the update. Just switched from POR to AKL and they charged me $30 when I updated it.

Yes, Disney will ask for a larger deposit. Funny, if you go from a more expensive resort to a cheaper resort, Disney doesn't temporarily refund you the difference :D

Yes. You can't pay the first night deposit for Pop Century, then switch to Grand Floridian without paying the difference in the deposit first.

Thank you! Ok, so follow up question. Does it let me enter credit card information or does it automatically charge the card I have on file? The one I have on file for dining and such I don't want charged. I know normally when making the reservation online it'll let me pay online then I have to call to pay the rest. Is it the same for this?

My change reservation link has not worked in over a year, so I am unsure online:( If you were to call and do it I am sure you could pick your form of payment. I usually cancel and rebook if its open.

So it wouldn't let me make the change so I had to cancel and rebook. Hopefully the refunded money will come through soon so I can use some for the new deposit I had to put down.

The "change reservation" button has not worked for me online in over a year. It takes about 5-7 for the room only refund with my bank. Packages seem to go faster.

I personally like cancelling and rebooking better. I find it to be cleaner. I've had to call IT many times when my resort or view would not refresh (days later) and they had to fix my MDE.

Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for the refund. I normally don't change my resort after I book it so this is a bit new to me.

I think that you actually have to book a new reservation at the resort you want to switch to, pay the one night deposit for that room, and cancel your current reservation, and get the deposit you already paid for that refunded to you. At least that's how it worked when I switched my reservation to a different resort last year. It might work differently if you call, I did it online.
