I am sure that I have read that the deposit is non refundable but was wondering if anyone has ever done it and got the deposit back. I booked a few weeks ago for my 40th during Feb half term and paid £200 deposit (inc £60 insurance which I wasn't told about at the time and I actually don't need as have an annual policy!). The thing is the travel costs via Eurostar are more expnsve than I thought they would be and it looks like it is going to cost £1500 for the 2 nights (accom & train for the 5 of us) plus food and spending money and it just seems so expensive for 2 nights!

So in short if I do decide to cancel completely what if anything will I get back?

Hi,

According to the Disney brochure, you have to pay 10% of the total booking cost as a cancellation fee, if you cancel more than 60 days ahead of your date of travel.

Unfortunately you will lose your deposit unless you are cancelling for a reason covered by your insurance

Is it worth pricing up the cheapest alternative travel option you can find, and see if that makes it worth you going instead of losing your deposit? It might be better to change your dates slightly, so you don't travel at the weekend, even if that means a extra charge.

We're going at Feb half term too and it cost us much less than that for 4 of us, staying 4 nights at the cheyenne, flying, and with HB plan.

If not, and you decide to go, I think it would be worth disputing the insurance charge, as £60 would at least go towards paying for a meal for you all.
