If I call Disney, will they have more rooms available than what is online?

I want to upgrade our room, but the specific room I'm looking for is not being listed on the online site for the dates I am going.

Anyone have any experience getting something by calling but not online? Maybe it's available but just not showing up?

I have had experience with the availability showing differently between the website and calling in, but every time I have been able to see availability on the website, and the CM on the phone could not see it. I've never had it be the other way around. But it's always worth a phone call to check - what do you have to lose?

Good Luck!

I had an issue last year where our resort was showing sold out. I wanted to add 2 more days. I spoke with a couple of CMs on the phone, and they kept saying it was sold out as well. This is where having a Disney only TA came in handy. I phoned her and within a few hours I had 2 extra days added on without switching resorts! :goodvibes

Keep checking. Hopefully you'll be able to get it!

I've had it go both ways. I wanted to change a room view and on the website it was showing available but the agent couldn't find it. I've also wanted change resorts and the website showed no availability but the agent was able to book it. I've also found that calling daily sometimes works. Either something really opens up or Disney tracks the calls and sees that I am not going to give up until I get what I want.:rotfl: Just call them and see what they say. No harm done and it may get you exactly what you want.

Called and they don't have the room that I want... oh well, my fault for wanted to upgrade two weeks before we leave!

It's tough to find a room that's completely unbooked during a 13-day stay anyway. It looks like the room I want is open on most days, just booked on the weekends.

If you really want it, doesn't hurt to try again. For our last trip, we were booked at AKL then a couple months out decided we wanted BWI (or any Epcot resort, but BWI was our first choice). I called two days in a row & they had nothing available CL at any Epcot resorts with my discount. On the third day, I was actually calling to price out monorail resorts (the call center CMs must hate me...), but on a lark had them check for BWI CL again. Lo and behold, there was a room available. :worship: Long story short: if you really want it, keep trying. :thumbsup2

I would definitely keep trying right up to the time you leave for your trip. And then I would try again at check-in. You just never know.

I heard at check-in you'd have to pay full rack rate price on an upgrade. We are on a 35% AP discount, so I want to make sure I get that.

I've received an upgrade at the discounted rate. I just asked if it was available at my current rate and I got it. I've also been told it was available but not at the AP rate so I didn't take it. It just depends on what opens up. Good luck and have fun -- you can enjoy any resort regardless of the room type.
