If I book now, can I rebook on board?

There is a SPR available on the cruise I want to book in 2004. I don't want to lose it, but I wanted to get the onboard credit by booking on our 3/22 cruise. (Only 18 days away ) Can I book it now with DCL and then "rebook" while I'm on board? (I know, I want my cake and eat it too!)

I just called DCL and booked the cruise (couldn't lose that SPR! ) I still would like to know if I can get the on board credit though. Anyone know?

that is a tough call. It is at their discretion, but it never hurts to ask!
Good luck and I think you were wise to grab the room now. Worst case scenario, rebook on the ship too and when you get home you (or your TA if you have one) can transfer the deposit from this res, cancel the other res and grab the room.
