If I add on at antoher resort, can I use all my points to make an 11 month ressie?

I am new to this, but already thinking of adding on. If I have most of my points (200) at one resort and add on to another (say 60 points), can I reserve at that other resort at the 11 month window using all points. I am wondering if I would have to purchase an add on with enough for a full week (if that's what I would use them for). I guess also, I am wondering ifyou could ever use all of your points at once (on an 11 month reservation). I hope this isn't too confusing.

At 11 months out, you can only use the points with the home resort of the place you're booking. You may have to make 2 ressies, and then at 7 months switch to the resort that you really want to stay in, if there's availability.

As answered, you may only use 'home resort' points to make a reservation at 11-months.

What some members do is utilize the banking and borrowing options to stretch their home resorts.

Example: Say you own 150 points at OKW, 50 points at VWL.

At 11-months you can make up to a 150 point reservation at OKW, or make up to a 50 point reservation at VWL. At 7-months, you can make up to a 200 point reservation at any resort.

You can also do this:
UY 2005, Bank your 50 VWL points, and make a 150 point reservation at OKW.
UY 2006, Borrow your next year's (2007) VWL points. This gives you 150 2006 points (50 banked from 2005, 50 regular 2006, and 50 borrowed from 2007). At 11-months make a 150 point reservation at VWL.

In this manner, every 3rd year you can have triple the points at the smaller contract's home resort, and thus make a larger 11-month reservation.

dw and i have been lurkers for the last year of DIS, and have FINALLY signed up to start posting. we have LOVED all the info. we stayed at Vero and SSR last Dec and Jan, and are hoping to do a Vero/VWL next Dec and Jan, but are worried about 7mnth window for VWL. so we have been tossing around the idea of adding on at other resorts. So, Caskbill, your post has me fascinated. does this mean, if i add on 50pts at 3 different resorts, and with banking and borrowing, i could have an 11month window each year at a different resort with 150pts? (i was an english major, math isn't my strongest point), and then i would still have my 200 SSR points on top of that each year.

Essentially, that answer is yes, but you would have to wait at least a year to start that process, and you would want to buy each additional resort a year apart so you would be "on schedule", so to speak.
