if going for two weeks-what tickets would you suggest?

We are going for two weeks in may (two travel days, so 12 full days). We will be staying off site and have five kids, ages 4, 5, 6, 11 and 13. the older two will spend 1-2 days at universal to experience harry potter, littles will not (and do pool or Disney instead those days to save the $$ on tickets-or that is the current plan). We will do a day at the beach and a day of shopping, but trying to decide on how many park days. We have been many times and do not park storm-we go when we are ready and hang out for as long as we are having fun and have done all our fast passes and then go home. We have never seen a rope drop, but have closed parks down. How many days of Disney tickets would you get? We usually do all four parks, but do not hop. Thanks for the suggestions in advance!

I would maybe get four day tickets to start with. You can always add days on once you are there.

If you have 12 full days, 2 at Uni (except for the little ones), 1 beach and 1 shopping, that leaves 8 possible Disney days. I think I agree with Disneylover99. Start with 4 days and then upgrade onsite if you decide you want to do more?

Since you mentioned using fast passes, you can pre-book fastpasses equal to the number of days on your tickets so that's something to keep in mind when deciding on the number of days. If you choose (4) day tickets you'll be able to add more days after you arrive and book fastpasses for those days at that time.

We've just got back from 2 weeks and had 10 Disney days and 4 Universal (their 2+2 free deal)
We had a shopping/I-drive day but went to a park every other day, even for just a few hours and then hopped to Epcot for supper etc. We take it easy; go when we're ready, leave when we're done - it was a wonderful vacation.....wish I was there now and not back in -24c

We typically stay 11 to 13 days, and always get 10 day base tickets.

Yep, this. We often do long trips, always stay off site and have 3 kids. We also don't rope drop or commando tour. We now get an AP, but we used to just buy passes. As AngiTN said, the ticket price difference is very minimal when you get to that number of days. I'd just get the 10 day ticket (but I'd also get hop and water park, because that's what we like to do). Unless you plan to have days where you don't hit the parks at all, you're going to need those days. Might as well get them now and be able to get FP+ for them.

I'd probably get a six day ticket to start - 1 Epcot, 1 HS, 1 AK, 2 MK and 1 extra for missed or faves. I would also get the water park option. It will be warm enough in May to go to the waterparks.

Our trips are around 2 weeks each year. I use to get 8 day tkt to upgrade when I arrived,but now buy 10 day so I could get FP+ for all 10 days. This year we are upgrading to AP since we will be wanting FP+ for 13 of the 15 days we're there, and can use it the following year.

We went for 12 days and had 8 park days plus water parks. It was June so the water parks where a huge hit and some of my favorite photopass pics are from the water parks
